Pain and positive thinking

Hoping to find friends and support here. I will be on Medicare as of May 1st and the medicare process has me confused and dazed. I have tried to do all the paperwork for medicare, paad, medicare part C, and low income assistance. Problem being, my fibro fog and all the paperwork have me in a tizzy! My children have disowned me so there will be no help or morale support there. My hubby is unemployed so my ssd is our only income. Wish I could just walk away from all of this but I know that is not an option. Will be seeing a pain management Doc for the 1st time this week. I also had urethral sling surgery in 2008, not a success. Urinary symptoms getting worse. IBS also, I feel like a mess. Help? Want to stay positive but getting more and more depressed and discouraged.

Hi Grandbetsy and welcome to our site.

It sounds like you have a h**l of a lot going on in your life. I can completely relate to you about trying to do the paperwork when you're in a fibro fog already.

What I'm thinking is that there must be a low income social service person who can help you do the paperwork. That's part of their job, I believe.

Here are a few numbers that may be helpful:

NJ Department of Human Services
Division of Disability Services
11A Quaker Bridge Plaza Mercerville NJ
Telephone: 888-285-3036

Information and Assistance

Toll Free 1-877-222-3737

Gloucester County
Gloucester County Board of Social Services
400 Hollydell Drive
Sewell, NJ 08080
(856) 582-9200

You could call them and ask if they have someone who can help you with the paperwork.

Sorry I can't write more at the present time but I hope this has helped.

Cheers,

Petunia

Hello Betsy,

IM SO sorry you are having a rough time! Each day I wake and thank God that I am alive and not dealing with a death sentence from other diseases. I have lost a very dear friend who passed from stage 5 brain cancer. I guess when you watch someone go throught that type of suffering, it kind of puts my pain in perspective. I GUESS WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY, IS TAKE IT ONE DAY AT A TIME, AND THANK GOD YOU ARE ALIVE! THAT IS MY MOTTO! BEST OF LUCK TO YOU! I'LL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU! I DO WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK~

That is great info Petunia gave you, so glad we have her. I want to just tell you that positive thinking, taking one step at a time will get you there, not quickly, but surely!

Keep looking up, my friend!

SK

thanks Petunia, I will try and see if they can help me!

Thanks to you, Jackie. You are right, it could be so much worse and I'm trying to be upbeat.

I am currently applying for SS disability and a car accident was involved, with an attorney involved, I have 3 reams of paper from him with various info that needs to be part of this, so I totally understand the hassle of finding all of the answers!

Good luck to you, Betsy!
