Peek-A-Boo! I have Missed you!

Sorry for my laps in absence, lots of stuff going on.

I still read all your posting through mail though. However, my memory is shot so I can't tell you what I've read! BUT now I have a speedy computer at work and can hang out all day! YAY!!

Went to the doctor today. He's banned all his patience from going to Wal-Mart, RiteAid, Walgreens and Costco to get their prescriptions filled. Does he really know how much of a pain in the butt this is going to cause? Probably not. Anyways, so I finally found a small family ran pharmacy that had all my scripts in stock and it wasn't going to take them 3-5 days to get my stuff in. Well what is giving me hesitation is they have the Upsher-Smith brand of patches they look completely different then my Watson patches, it looks like a pink bandaid. you can't see medication in it and it's flimsy! a few other places I've looked online have said they are not as great as the others. Is anyone on these and do they work for you?

Also, he put me on lorazapam because I am at least for 6-7 weeks RUNNING the company! ARGH! My c.e.o went on a long drive through the US and up to Nova Scotia then back through Canada. Sooo I'm stressed to the hilt. The only good thing I can see about this is if like the pharmacist was saying that it may extend the effectiveness of my fentanyl. wouldn't THAT be a bonus!

Anyways, enough about me, how is everyone doing? Are we all still here?

Loves, Hugs, and smooches!

Punkin!

Hey girlfriend!

So good to hear from you! I'm in the final stages of home construction, I hope! Currently going through closets, drawers, toy boxes and cleaning out! Taking a break at the moment! My little house looks like a war zone inside and out, I just have to keep thinking of the end game! Have the grandson here helping so time to get back!

Hope to hear from you much more often!

Love and hugs,

SK

It sounds wonderful! You'll have to post before and after pics of the remodel. Remember to take it easy. That's all you need is to overdo it and all hell will break loose!

I promise I'll be here more often. It doesn't take my new computer 15 mins to close one window! LOL

Punkin

OMG!!! Bwhahahahahah!!!

I don't know if it's the new patch working quite (and when I mean quite I mean better than the old ones) or if it's the Lorazapam but weeeeeeee weeeeeee!!!!!!

I think I might cut the lorazapam in half LOLOL

He should be able to give you a prescription for wherever you want it. That makes me mad! I don't know what insurance you have but Medco is a mail prescription service & if you order 90 days it is cheaper. Are you in Canada? Good luck, gentle hugs Dar

Dar, I understand why he is doing it though its because he’s being treated like a criminal eventhough he’s been a respected community member for a very long time. Costco td him that he needed to quit doing refills for more than 1 day before the script is due. Now dr. B is in his office 3 days a week and if my script runs out on sunday I’m screwed by their thought. In fact its illegal for them to do that. The law allows I beleive max 4 days earlier because it prepares us for shortages on scripts and delays in prescription processing. Then there’s one walgreens that requested that dr. B send his credentials in to them everytime he writes a prescription. And that’s what his prescription pad that has his med license number, his dea, number and security measures on it. This is what a prescription pad is for!!! I can’t remember what else the other two did but it was just as bad as the other two!!! I don’t blame him he’s just trying to CYA because of these pharmacies that have made his life difficult. I guess it was a good thing though because I finally found a little family owned pharm that is right by my work and they are going to make sure they have my fentanyl and oxycodone in. She asked me to call and let her know when my next appointment is each mo so they can have it in before I get there. How sweet was that?

Hello Punkin

Your doctor has a definite reason for telling you to NOT go to the places he mentioned for a good reason. Obviously their pharmacy medications are not reliable. Cheaper is not better if the meds are compromised. The same problem could arise when shopping online.

We're always glad to hear from you. However when you are working a full time job while dealing with chronic illnesses you're pretty tired in the evenings.

We understand that.

Hi Punkin, so nice to see you on !!!
I am on the lowest dose, 12mcg, fentanyl and my pharmacy keeps running out, it’s good to know other company’s make it… When the pharmacy was having trouble getting it, they increased it to 25, but that made me so sick… Did you experience that with an increase ? So I went back down to the lower dose, but it only takes the edge off,
So glad your doing ok
Look foreword to seeing you on more

Hugs & blessings

Oh boy THAT's an understatement! My poor husband has to decide what's for dinner and cook it. LOL cuz I just don't have the energy to do it!

I’ve been in a fog for at least 2 weeks. My legs are like jelly. I am dropping things. I feel dyslexic. It took me over 5 minutes to type this for correcting it. Yuck.

Janssen, Johnson & Johnson, Actavis, Watson, and Sandoz. and this Upsher-Smith are the manufacturers of fentanyl patches. There are quite a few out there so you could ask your current pharmacy if they can order it for you or you could contact these guys to find which pharms carry them in your area. I didn't start out on the 12.5's I started out on the 50's and I haven't experienced any side effects from it. I helps me by taking that burning pain away and the electricity feeling away most the time.

I'll try to be here more.!

Gentle Hugs

Well, hiya Punkin and welcome back! It's nice to hear from you and I'm glad to see that you can still work. Lucky girl!

I think it's awful that your doctor has banned you from using all of those pharmacies, and I'd want to know why if I were you. Does he get some sort of a kickback from the drug companies if he sends business to certain pharmacies? Why would he care otherwise? Prescriptions being filled don't affect what a doctor gets back in insurance. Is he pulling some sort of an insurance scam? Man, that is really WEIRD.

Also, I'd hold out for your regular pain patches if you can. I know that inferior brands can peel right off, so what's the use of putting them on? No bueno.

You must be some smart cookie to run the company while the CEO goes on a 6-7 week vacation! I hope you get a good vacation after that time! You're gonna need it, Punkin! I don't know how you do it!

I hear ya on the memory stuff. It gets ridiculous after awhile. My son gets a charge out of the stupid little things I do and say due to fatigue. One day we were talking about bacon and I said, "bacon from the South tastes different than what we get in the North. The cows get fed different grains and such." Well, he burst out laughing, saying,"The COWS? Bacon's made from pigs." I felt like an idiot even though I laughed along with him. My concentration is shot.

My son is visiting me for 2 months but the time is nearly up. We freshened up the bathroom, redid the tiles in there, and painted and restained the old, tired vanity a cocoa color. This week we have someone coming to reface our kitchen, as it's firmly stuck in the 70s. We're getting white cabinets plus a butterscotchy granite-looking laminate countertop. We also got some snap together wood-esque tiles and will put the outside as a little patio. Just trying to update our home. We bought it 2 years ago and it was just horrid to look at, but in an excellent neighborhood. Little by little it's entering the 21st century.

Well, that's about all on my end of things. Oh, and my mother is coming to visit in August, so another person to look forward to seeing!

Hugs to you and glad to see you doing so well!

Sometimes it's not just CYA or avoiding a hassle. My doctor was prescribing my maintenance dose of clonazepam, and the California Medical Board got on his back. They harassed him, threatened to take his license away and more. Now I have to see a neurologist to get the same care from two old spinal injuries. The neurologist must have had the same problem because he is taking care of the spine, he is also referring me to someone else for meds management.

Now pharmacies are getting in the act, and doctors aren't being given credit for being doctors. They are having to justify everything, and are sometimes required by certain pharmacies to share our personal information. Your doctor may have sent to to a pharmacy that won't intrude on your privacy or his expertise.

Just a thought.....

Hugs,

Scribelle
