Rotator cuff surgery 8 days ago

I’m amazed at how my arm doesn’t hurt. I’m 8 days post op and I’m doing ok.

I started with a new doc recently as mine went too far away for me to follow. New doc suggested checking out my arm pain with an ortho. She explained how having an injury with pain can - in the fibro body - make lots more pain from many areas.

Ortho ordered MRI and gave me the injection I badly wanted. Injection worked for a few hours instead of months. MRI results showed rotator cuff tear and bursitis.

Surgery was a week later. Yes, it was hard. We never know how things will go for us, for sure. It was a hard choice.

A week post surgery I’m glad I did it. The arm pain and shoulder pain are gone. I have lots of rehabilitation and physical therapy ahead and that’s ok. I’m excited to really know how much improved my quality of life will be…

Hello Kitty,

That is great news! It is good you had such a great doc, who feared it might not just be the Fibro. Sometimes it isn't and we need to get some symptoms checked out, especially if they are new. I wish you well for your recovery.

Take care, Anne

Thank you Anne. Still progressing. So glad I did it.
Take care of you!
Kitty

Hi Kitty, I wanted to check in and see how you are doing? I hope you continued to heal from the surgery with minimal pain.
