So Glad I Found This!

Hi everyone!

So my name is Calla. I'm from Chicago, but my college is Montreal (I'm an undergraduate student with a major in French translation, minors TBA). I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 6 months ago. We suspect that I might also have EDS or JHS because I have extreme hypermobility, but I'm on the waitlist to see the Rheumatologist (average wait for most people around here is 2-3 months)

I love cooking, gardening, reading, and I'm a big nerd. I spend a lot of my time working (I work at a farmer's market during the summer), and I try to do activities when I have the energy to do so. I usually just lie around and do nothing all day.

My medications help me manage my pain a lot, but the symptoms that aren't pain are getting worse and worse as time goes on. I get a lot of support from my boyfriend; he's the most understanding and patient person in the world. I joined here to try to find more support from people like myself who really understand what its like.

Hello Calla,

Thank-you for posting, I enjoyed reading it. Sounds like you have lots of activities you enjoy, and must be gutted that all are not possible now. Getting used to the 'new normal' is hard, but there are things which you will find out about on here that might help. So glad to hear you have the support of your boyfriend - he sounds amazing! Remember you can come here anytime, ask questions.I wish you well.

Take care, Anne
