I’ve tried psysicsl therapy, walking, slow paste and medium, those bikes on the gym… well all I can say is, after, around 6-8 at night I get sore and fever, I cant move, everything hurts… exercises are not for everyone with Fibro. Massages really works for me and chiropractor.
I agree Wilka. If I do exercise, I am unable to do it again for about a week. My physical therapist has me do very mild exercises. She’s wonderful and understands the pain and response to exercise. She does a lot of massage and gets those tight lumps out of my back and neck area. I went to a physical therapist years ago (before I found this one) who had no sympathy or care whether she hurt me. And the exercises she had me do was painful! I never went back. I think physical therapists are like doctors, not all have the same attitude toward FM.
Exercise is my only release from the pain, anxiety and depression. I haven’t exercised in 2 weeks and feel awful. So definitely I will be starting back from this evening. Truth be told, i stayed away from exercise for that time as the pain was unbearable and of course with pain comes the “fright” and the “what ifs”. So i am forcing myself to go and exercise and stretch this afternoon. Wish me luck ;).
