I've dealt with bloating and a kind of burning/gnawing feeling in my upper abdomen a few times in the last year or so. Just a couple of weeks ago though, it came on differently. It seemed to start with spasms under my rib cage on the sides, then gas, then the burning/gnawing feeling. This time, I'm getting sharp pains in varied locations around my stomach. No nausea, no bleeding ... just off and on pain. I have a rotated disk in my back that, when I put pressure on it (like with a tennis ball), the pain eases. I THOUGHT I've been eating well lately, a lot of veggies, either salads or roasted. I usually have very little appetite and now, with this, I have none at all. Does anyone else experience this with fibromyalgia? It throws SO many weird things at us, it's always the first thing I look to when something new comes along.
perhaps see a GI doc.. many people have irritable bowel syndrome. dont eat raw fruits and salads for now. cooked is better. best of luck
Debaloha,
I'm not a doctor but this could possibly be a stomach ulcer. I had (still have?) one and bloating was the biggest symptom that I had, although I'd have weird moments where I'd get horrid stomach pains and diarrhea out of the blue. Then kind of gnawing pains later on in the illness. I didn't know what was up and was a little surprised by the ulcer diagnosis. Again, I'm not a doctor but I do think you should go ASAP and get that checked out.
Hugs,
Petunia
Thank you every one! I do have an appointment with the doc next week and will talk to him about it. Yesterday was a good day and I felt almost "normal" ... just a bit of discomfort, not much. Today, just for a little while, I had some pain AFTER standing up. The muscles in my sides were really tight and when I noticed, they got tighter and then the stomach started hurting. I've been drinking pepto w/colloidal silver for the last 3 days (recommended to CURE H-pylori/stomach ulcers) and I THINK that is helping. I also drink aloe vera juice a couple of times a day, eat coconut oil and even drink the "broth" from reconstituting shitaki mushrooms. Something I THINK may be a contributing factor is my posture and where I sit ... you see, I practically LIVE in my bedroom (sharing a very small house with my son) and my only seating is on my bed. I can imagine this doesn't do much for the stomach - being crunched and bunched unnaturally!!
i get that i get the its ur ibs and ur backed up speech . my stomach issues always seem to trump anything else i have going on. I often wonder if its from the meds i been on especially depo. good luck and keep us updated on if there is anything found, hoping ur gi is a lil more caring then mine.
I don't take any meds on a regular basis. I take vicodin, occasionally for severe back pain and valium for dizziness and anxiety as needed. I'm getting tested for H-pylori next week, I think, so I'll see if it's an ulcer. And, my doc told me today that a disk in my back (that's always rotating), is THE disk that corresponds with the stomach. I am MUCH better for the last couple of days. Maybe the colloidal silver & pepto, aloe vera juice and the occasional muscle relaxer helped? I DO feel better just knowing that I'm not alone in THIS symptom either!! Helps so much to find these things out! My stiffness has always been the worst of everything, physical. The brain fog and dyslexia is the worst of the mind games FM plays with me!
I too had the same thing for a very long time wound up losing like 40lbs. They discovered I had Celiac Disease…might wanna get an appt with a GI. “Hugs”
Hi debaloha,
Sorry you are going through this, sounds like it's time to get your Doctor in on this, I think it will be worth it to take care of it sooner rather than later! I have/do go through many digestive problems, my sympathies to you. Hope your Doctor will take good care of you!
Wishing you well,
SK
