This is a 'symptom' I haven't heard discussed yet but I'm new to the site

Same here with the lists!

Just wondering- does anyone have throat problems? I have developed this weird throat thing where it feels like I have something stuck in my throat and it is difficult to swallow. It gets worse as the day goes on and if I eat something hard to swallow. This does not keep me from eating, unfortunately but a girl can only eat so much yogurt and ice cream before she gets sick of it. My doc has treated me with antibiotics three times since January but I don’t think that antibiotics are helping. This FM affects every part of your body, inside and out. Crazy!

Thanks for all the kind words and support. It makes me feel so much better. Too bad you are not all close by where I can share some of the goodies I have made.

I always have to clear my throat. It’s constantly scratchy. I don’t have problems swallowing though.

It would be nice to have friends in the area. What sort of goodies did you make?

Yes I have throat problems too. Things either get stuck in it, or I can't swallow, or its just really sore. I think they are fibro and CFS symptoms, unless you obviously have infections?

It does affect everything in your body and the next thing you know, it affects something else you didn't realise at the time, was ok. Whats that all about?

Wow you really are an encouraging person, and have a good sense of humour too. Sometimes you really appreciate somethings in life and look for positivity when you have really hit rock bottom. I'm so pleased that you have a lifestyle that makes you much happier, and stronger too. We all have to adapt to it in some way and its great to hear of others successes to find our own too.

Bless you

Jo

I make everything and anything. We are going to my parents’ 50th in a couple of weeks and so far I have chocolate chip cookies, chocolate peanut butter cookies, oatmeal, oatmeal and raisin, peanut butter cookies. I have cheese straws and I will make monkey bread for breakfast. I also made heart shaped sugar cookies for the kids- purple and pink for the girls and blue and green for the boys- that i will decorate with their names, etc. it has taken me a month to get it all done but is done. One of my favorites is chocolate meringue pie and it is sooooooo good. I also make a killer seafood lasagna, spinach pie, and on and on and on…

Oh no, I am hungry now. LOL. Anyway, I love to cook and bake- I just don’t feel up to it as much as I used to. I really have to pace myself these days. Probably for the best since I seem to gain weight just by looking at food these days.

I have no infection although the doctor has treated me in the past for sinuses when I don’t think that is what it was. My throat hurts so bad sometimes I feel like I am swallowing razor blades and then other days it’s fine. I don’t know. I don’t know about any of this- the docs don’t seem to know what they are talking about either. I wish I had the money to do somewhere like Mayo or Johns Hopkins or somewhere where they have the experts on this crazy illness!

The real question is...IS there an expert on this?

Maybe we should start a group on the site for recipe exchanges. That is if you will share. everything sounds delicious. I have noticed I am gaining weight even though I am not eating too much. I miss cooking - I don’t cook much now. With some inspiration I might try it again. Hope you had a nice weekend!

I have a book I am reading and it lists “experts” on fibromyalgia but they are all in NY or California or DC. There is one in Tupelo, MS. Unfortunately, they are all far away and unobtainable to me as I think it would be at least a shot.

I would definitely share- no state secrets here. Just let me know and I will send you whatever you want.

What is it with the weight thing? I am so frustrated because I am gaining weight and, like you, not really eating that much.

Here’s wishing you a good week with little pain and lots of energy!

I think I'll do some computer research on this and post what I find...

Omg I wanna move right next door to you! I won't probably fit through the door though after a month of munching round your house though. I'll make some stuff too so it may only be 2 weeks before I am housebound lol!

I am back on the healthy diet now after a two week binge. It really sucks being good...

Ps. What is monkey bread? Sorry, I can't help being English lol. I came over to america last year and I was made english muffins (never heard of them lmao)

Monkey bread is this wonderful breakfast treat made with bread, butter, cinnamon and sugar (and nuts if you want them). It’s called monkey bread because the bread part is baked so that you can pull a piece off at a time to eat it- it’s especially great when you have a bunch of people and everyone wants to munch on it. Or when you are on the go. It is a very yummy treat. Can be dessert as well as breakfast.

Ok I'll be there in about 22 hours lol

Yes, it would be quite a trip for you but it would so be worth it. :).

Just curious, you look young in your pic- how old are you?

Oh I'm 21. lol. (Plus a 13 year old attitude problem) Thanks anyway. Just gotta find the right lighting. In day light I look (and feel) like 80.

I feel like I am 90 most days. And what’s the deal with the dark circles around the eyes? Even if I do sleep, they just keep getting worse. I am 48 and have never before looked or felt my age. Now I avoid mirrors like the plague!
