Tracking Symptoms

I am looking for suggestions for tracking symptoms, foods, environmental triggers, reactions to meds, sleep etc. My symptoms vary from day to day and week to week. Does anyone have a good system for keeping track of their symptoms and such? I am looking for something simple, logical and easy since I tend to forget things quickly.

Hi Sunny!

I found this site to be extemely helpful... http://www.theacpa.org/

because it allows you to setup an account & document your symptoms etc in detail through a logger and by icons marking on specific body parts.

AND... you can then print out a report based on the input you have put in.

Good luck!

Hey, there are also all kinds of apps for symptom tracking if you have a smartphone. Just google symptom tracker app and the platform you have either iPhone or Android.

I also found this symptom tracking tips article useful-

Good luck! I am trying to find one for my Samsumg Galaxy S3. If I find one that's good, I'll let you know, too!

Thank you! Very useful information!

Thank you! Super useful!

My dr has me keep a simple journal. How many hours of sleep. How many meals. Snacks. Physical activay. Time with a supportive person/group. Did I get out of bed. Cooking. Illness. Drug interactions. Leave home. Etc. and basically I chart it before the visit and say what’s what. And these are the problems. It actually works very well, and is good for you to reflect on also.

My favorites are patientslikeme.com because it's so customizable and prints wonderful charts to take to the doc. On my smartphone, I have Manage My Pain Pro which is a similar tracker. Printing the tracking from the patientslikeme.com is what helped convince my doc in the first place to look at Fibro and an explanation for my issues.

Thanks so much!

Thanks! I will look into it. :-)

I finally found something that seems pretty good for my smart phone. I am using Pain Coach by WebMD. I am still learning how it all works but I can e-mail a report to myself to print out or even to my doctor. The report does not include all the info I put in, just the top three complaints, triggers, and meds. It's really just a summary with a graph showing your overall well being over the week or month. Perhaps I still need to learn how to work with it. At first I was only updating once a day then I realize that I can update info throughout the day. You can also input notes.
