Tramdol

does anyone else feel Tramadol is crap. It only makes me sleepy but does nothing for the pain.

Sorry, I love it.

It goes best with a percocet. It is like the extra shot in a latte. The Percocet will work just like a regular coffee but mixing them makes for a better outcome.

It certainly, like all drugs, does not work for everyone.

Hi annann. Tramadol worked ok for my arthritis pain, but not as well as low doses of vicodin. The biggest problem I had was withdrawing from it, which was doctor supervised. It was a 3 day night mare. I am not trying to scare you. I had trouble withdrawing from vicodin as well, but not nearly as bad. Now I take vicodin only very rarely. Will not take tramadol again.

Tramadol, does nothing for me! I haven't had any issues with drawing/ The low dose vicodon works best for me! However, they want me to go for spinal injections, and Im afraid to do that.. Has anyone had that done?

I havn't any personal experience of spinal injections but my brother inlaw gets these done every 3 months and gets good pain relief from them. He does not have fibro however he gets them for pain in back due to previous fracture and after he gets injection his mobility is greatly improved. It takes a couple of days post injection for full effects to kick in. Don't know if it will work for fibro pain though it is worth a try. Hope this helps you some.

tramadol did nothing for me at all.
Everybody react different to different things.
If its not working for you, there is no reason that you need to suffer in pain get back to your doctor as soon as you can and tell them that it is not working.
You’re low doses of other things but I’m sure that the fact of the matter is is the next step up is a narcotic of some sort.
If that’s the stuff that you need to take though, that’s the stuff you need to take.
I myself am on higher doses of both Percocet and Vicodin.
If you feel bad about taking them, don’t you got to live your life and have a life that’s what got to come first.
Annann, please keep us updated on what happened and what you end up being on

I was given Tramadol when I was first diagnosed and it did nothing for me. I now take Vicodin 3 times a day and it takes the edge off most of the time for a few hours at least.

thanks guys for ll you input I will try to discuss other options with doctors.

I have days where it is lovely.. works well and has few side effects; and then I have days where I feel it is like taking sugar pills and no benefit is coming from it.

That being said, on the bad days where I feel it is doing no good, if I stop taking them I realise how foolish I have been and that they have been doing a lot of good and I am just even sorer than usual. On their own they may not be brilliant, but in combination with other drugs (paracetamol/acetaminophen always increases the effectiveness of tramadol and counteracts the slight pyrexic effect).

Speak with your doctor if they are not helping and see if you can be changed to something else, maybe low dose beupranorphine or fentanyl.

thanks guys will speak to neuro on Thursday

Craaaaaaaap!!! All they do is hurt my insides. I guess to some people who have only taken very mild pain killers once or twice a life time they may get some relief.

Wish my doc would have given me something better to go with… jealous… lol.

I managed to get butrans patches after trying tapentadol. All depends on your doctors really and where you live.

Good luck getting something better than old dish water.

Hugs,

Jo

Tramadol did nothing to help my pain. I was prescribed that when I was first diagnosed. I now take Vicodin 3 times a day and that takes the edge off my pain at least for a few hours at a time. I also recently got a Tens Unit that I wear a lot during the day and that helps with pain too.

It's so strange how drugs are good for us one day, and then the next...nothing. Part of the fibro ups and downs I guess. Hi Mike.

When I say Vicodin or Percocet to any doc here in England they look at me like I’m asking for heroin. They assume that if you are not happy with tramadol and ask for something stronger then you are at risk of becoming a junkie. So frustrating! It’s not like stronger painkillers are that expensive here either. Migraine ones are more and they dish them out like smarties.

It’s so hard for us to get decent relief isn’t it. One of us needs to become a fibro specialist and look after the rest of us lol.

Tramadol is one of those pills that work sometimes, for me. It seems to work well for pain when I mix it with my Cymbalta.

Yes I agree ive been taking it over ten years and it doesn't work anymore my doctor stinks cause she wont give me anything else its not fair
