Going to my dr. tomorrow to start tapering off my meds. I think it’s time to see what happens. It may be that I find out my meds works better than I think, but also it may be that I can manage without them. One can only hope…
Good luck. I think you have a great attitude with seeing whether the meds are really helping you or not. I often think that as well. Please keep us updated, we are here should you want to share the good and not so good. Bug hugs.
Hello, I wish you great success with this. I agree with Singingtrees, you have a great attitude toward this. A number of years ago I went off all meds as well and it worked pretty well for about 9 years. I am now back on one regular medication but overall the experience was good. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. Hugs!!!
Hi dename,
I wish you success. You may have come to a point where your body is strong enough to go without. Have you considered stocking up on key vitamins that can bolster your immune system?
Hiya Dena! It's nice to see you here again!
I have to say that I don't think this experiment is a good idea. I'm guessing that your body is using those medicines far more than you think (I did this experiment too awhile back.) I mean, great for you if you can get off of them but I'm guessing that doing this is going to put you into a bad, bad flare. Please be careful and check with your doctor if you start experiencing any weird withdrawal stuff. Medicines like Lyrica, Cymbalta and Effexor can be murder to get off of.
(I tried to get off the Lyrica and by night 3 I experienced the WORST adrenaline rush - plus pounding of my heart and head - in my entire life. It felt like someone had turned on my adrenaline spigots all of the way and I was gushing out adrenaline, which made me feel like I was running for my life from a raving maniac who was one step behind me.)
So please, pretty please be careful in doing this!
Hugs and good luck to you,
Petunia
Coming off the lyrica did set off a flare. In two days I will be off it completely, then I will start coming off the celexa. I am in great pain but I am determined to see this through.
Okay, just be careful, okay Dena? I hate to be Debbi Downer and I just want you to be safe and okay. You sound okay so far, so good for you. Please keep us posted, Dena. And do you have a Plan B for your fibro symptoms? I don't mean that snarkily, I really am interested in any Plan B that may help you or us out.
Be well!
Hugs,
Petunia
