I have this almost constantly. I work part time as a hair stylist, and know this is a reason too. At night, the pain can wrap around my entire chest area, giving me chest pain too. Unfortunately, I have yet to figure out something to soothe this pain. I hope yours goes away soon!
I have this most of the time in my left arm and occasionally in my right arm. I also get the same type of pain at the same time, in my chest under my arm and under my left breast. I find that pain killers along with a heating pad or heated throw, seems to bring the sharp pain down to a dull pain after about an hour, and it eventually goes away after a while.
