I woke up this morning in a pool of urine. I am pretty sure it was me, and not one of my cats, since it was underneath my comforter and right at the correct area for it to have been me. For the past few months I've had slight incontinence when coughing or sneezing, and it has been getting worse, but I never ever imagined I could pee the bed in my sleep! How embarrassing! I lied and told my boyfriend it must have been one of the cats. :/
Can my lyrica be causing this? I'm only on Cymbalta and Lyrica, and i use Voltaren gel about every other day...I don't want to be 25 years old and in Depends at night!
Also, last month I had the most unhelpful, frustrating appointment with an allergy doctor I've had in my *life*. I went to the appointment expecting a full assessment to see which foods I've been reacting to, and the doc literally shot down everything I said and told me that the B vitamin I have been taking sporadically and *not* for as long as I've had symptoms is probably causing my awful stomach cramps, diarrhea and constipation, facial flushing, heart palpitations, and general pain whenever I eat. She literally told me that the FOOD i'm EATING is NOT producing the SYMPTOMS i get after i EAT. I wound up only getting one blood test; for wheat sensitivity (i already KNOW that i react to gluten and have been on a self-imposed gluten-free diet for over TWO YEARS), and she *refused* to do any other tests. I left the office *fuming* and now, a week later, I get the results back and the test says I AM NOT GLUTEN INTOLERANT. What the hell, body? So, since I have no willpower, I've been eating things like pizza rolls and chicken nuggets (both entirely gluteny) for two days, and I've been having the same god damn stomach cramps and awful diarrhea and headaches turning into a migraine and joint pain as i KNEW the gluten was going to cause!
I'm at a loss. I feel like I can't eat *anything* without reacting. I'm too poor to buy a juicer and just start juicing vegetables, but I'd really like to just try juicing for 30 days. I'm pretty sure I have leaky gut, along with my IBS, because I'm now passing *chunks* of undigested food, and everything I eat makes my heart rate go up, my face flush, and my stomach hurt. :/
The incontinence is typical of Lyrica. Let your Dr know about this, please. I sleep with a quilted cotton pad on the top, plastic on the bottom, use Poise panty liners for this problem. Because I take large mg doses, sometimes I have to go off the Lyrica for a few days and just by doing that it's like you took a fluid pill.
Sounds like you really do have a gluten intolerance, listen to your body, it's trying to tell you something!
My chiropractor put me on Spectrazyme digestive enzymes http://www.professionalsupplementcenter.com/SpectraZyme.htm but I am twice your age, and have no gb, and little digestive juice, but they may help you too. They are all plant based. Of course ask your Dr about this.
Hope you get straightened out and feel better very soon, Pixie!
How much Lyrica are you taking? I am taking 450 mg and have trouble starting to urinate. It sometimes hurts to pee, but doctor has ruled out urinary infection. I keep reading about incontinence and am scared it will happen to me. Like pixie said ... I don't want to be this young and be in Depends. I sometimes get a feeling like I need to pee and it feels like I am about to use it on myself. Somehow, I don't (thank goodness) bc I am at college most of the day.
On another note, does Lyrica make you gain weight? I am eating the same amounts as I ever have, and I am blowing up like a balloon! Appreciate everyone here and am thankful to have found you all!
Hi Susan, I have had many, many, urine tests and they all come back neg. I to have trouble peeing and I have burning. I only pee small amounts but up to 15 to 20 times a day. It is called Interstitial Cystitis. It also is another condition that can go along with Fibro. There is medication for it but no cure. It drives me crazy! And yes it is painful. Look it up and read about it.
Hugs Leanne
Hunh, what? Lyrica causes this? I wish it would say so in the side effects. Okay, maybe it does somewhere FAR down on the box. Grrrrrr! Well, now I know what's what and I'm glad you shared this with Pixie and the rest of us. Good to know.
I agree with you that listening to her body is what Pixie needs to do, regardless of whatever her clueless allergist believes. And I honestly think that FIBRO causes some of these stomach spasms and diarrhea, because I can no longer eat cheese or yogurt without getting cramps and I used to be able to. And nothing showed up in allergies. So HMMMMMM...I would say that fibro is probably the culprit for me and maybe for Pixie too. (I really HATE this illness!) There's just SO MUCH that doctor's don't know about this illness. They should just say, "I don't know," instead of BSing their way through it.
And finally, Pixie, have you thought of going through Craig's List and trying to find a reasonably priced juicer? Or else you could sign up to FreeCycle and request one. If someone in your area has one, they'll see your notice and reply. The items on FreeCycle are free. I think that getting more vitamins in such a healthy manner would be great, so I hope you can find one.
I called my dr. this afternoon and am waiting for her nurse to call back. I'm only on 75mg of Lyrica twice a day, but it seems to be too much for my bladder to handle. I got up four times last night to pee because i was so paranoid about peeing in the bed again.
