After discovering I have seriously low vitamin D and on meds my life has changed so much. I no longer have symptoms and doctor now say I was likely misdiagnosed. I have to wait a few more weeks but life is finally good for me. I wanted to share this in case anyone here has not been tested for vitamin D as it could make a massive difference to you. Much love to all and if I am free form this awful condition at least I can empathise with those I work with and help them through it thanks to the support shown on this site x

Great news Bubbles! It's so great to hear from someone who is doing so wonderfully! You inspire us.
We can all be more aware of the possibility that we might be low too.
Check it out, everyone. Get your Vit D levels checked!

So very many of us have this deficiency! Besides it being an important component in absorbing calcium, it has recently been determined that it is considered to be a vital hormone!

My Chiropractor is my vitamin Guru, and says it should never just be taken alone when a deficiency is determined, so always talk to a knowledgable Physician or Pharmacist about what should be taken with it, and how much of each!
Bubbles, I'm so glad this was determined, adding this should make a huge difference in how you will feel in the future! This is a big breakthrough for you! I am so happy they found this!
Love and hugs,
SK
Oh my gosh! Every once in a while we get good news like this! Wow, that's fantastic news, Bubbles! A lack of Vitamin D certainly can cause fibro-like symptoms. I'm praying for you that you're CURED!!! of all of the pain and fatigue. Please let us know what you find out - most likely very good news - and keep us in your thoughts as you travel through life.
Hugs and happiness,
Petunia
My vita D level was low (12) & I did the prescription strength vita d for a couple months & my level went up in the normal range (45) but my PCP said she sees people with FM or arthritis start feel ing better when their ranges are around 60-70 so I take 20,000 Us everyday but can't seem to get my level past 50! & I didn't feel any better even when my level went up to 45.
When mine was tested, it was at a 9, i've been taking suppliments for about 3 months now but no change in my symptoms. They tested me a week or two ago to see if levels have risen at all, thanks for reminding me i need to call them :X
Congrats Bubbles....This is a lesson for those that never heard about how Vitamin D effects us and our fibro. There are many doctors out there that don't even check on your levels when you give blood for other tests. My ex doc never bothered to check but my pain psychiatrist took the time and found out that I had less than 4% and was very angry at my doc. I am lucky to still be around. So we got me caught up and my psych hoped it would cure me but it didn't help me at all in the pain dept. So let this be a lesson to all make sure you bring this up to your doctors; this could help you tremendously.
p.s. One of the reasons it didn't for me also is I was lacking in Vitamin D because I worked the graveyard shift for 22 years and I avoided the sun...so I was lacking in the natural sunlight....
congrats again Bubbles.....Sissy
Hello Bubbles,
I too was recently diagnosed with fibro, plus found to have a vit D level of just 9 so was started on Vit D 1000iu tabs 6 months ago.
My levels are still considered low at 24 so have been told I may need an I/V injection of Vit D twice yearly as they think I may have a malabsorption problem.
How soon after taking the supplements of Vit D did you start to feel some improvement? As yet I haven't but then my levels are still low.
Kind regards, Lucy xx
