Hi Victoria,
I would call a disability lawyer ASAP. I worked with ALLSUP and they're easy enough to look up online. They will do all of the foot work for you. They don't charge unless they win and then you will pay them one quarter of the amount you're awarded for back pay (from when your fibro started and was medically documented.)
There is no such thing as part-time disability. You have to go for the whole thing or nothing. If you can't qualify for SSDI you might be able to get SSI, which depends upon your income.
You can work a bit while waiting for SSDI but cannot make more than about $1100 a month. Which is peanuts. And I understand that they don't look highly upon cases where people are working part time because they figure you could be working full time if you can work part time. Which isn't at all logical but there it is.
I'm going to pull up a resource page that one of our members put together a while ago. I hope you can find some helpful places on the list. I'll post it separately and try to keep it near the top of the discussions so you can find it easily.
I do really feel for you. It's just awful to work, even part-time, when we have fibro. It's just not an easy illness to get around. At all. What about your husband? Can he look for work instead of you? Also, don't forget about unemployment. I think he can get it even if he was fired.
Ok, let me go find the resource page. Good luck with it!
Hugs,
Petunia
