does anyone out there have any suggestions as to diets? i am on month three of the worse flare up that i have ever had. i am so tired! i am tired of being tired. i am exhausted. i am looking for any suggestions on anything that would help in anyway. i need some relief.
I am sorry you are having such a bad flare up. I don’t have any diet tips but can tell you the other things I have been doing lately for my lengthy flare up. I have been flared up since June of this year. I started Lyrica when I saw my doctor in September. I will say I think it has helped reduce the severity of the flare up but I still have some rather difficult pain from sitting all day at work or if I am very stressed. (which happens often) The other thing I did is started to see a physical therapist for pool therapy. They have a heated salt water pool which is great for us Fibromites. She works on my with ultra sound and some massage therapy as well. I am feeling better and when I am in the pool I can say it is the only time I am totally pain free in over 12 years. I wish I could offer more of an answer but as we are all aware Fibro is a very difficult condition to treat. I wish you luck in feeling better soon. Hang in there.
thanks for replying. it is a tough thing to have. there are just simply so many different symptoms and flare up issues that are different for everyone. its crazy. i have not tried lyrica yet but perhaps i will ask my doctor about it. i did just start aqua therapy. i have only been there twice. so i am in the early stages of that. i was pondering going to the ymca and joining in on the low impact water exercise classes. i appreciate your thoughts. i will look into the massage end of things next time i am at PT. i hope you are feeling better also!!!
I bought an herbal book & received another from a Sis. I make a tea with fresh ginger root (costs $4/lb) I don’t peel off the skin, one eighth inch or thinner slices, ummm 4 or 5 slices. Decaf Green Tea, 10 tea bags per 1 gallon water, 4 cinnamon sticks, & the last ingredient you MUST talk with Your Primary BEFORE you use this - is 4 or 5 leaves of dandelion. Fresh ginger root can be either eaten raw (it is spicey) or steeped in a tea or in a poultice. It reduces inflammation. Green Tea is a recommended “good for you” tea & I like the flavor. Cinn sticks flavor the tea & if I leave the tea sit overnight the cinn will also slightly sweeten it. Dandelion leaves have potassium & is a natural diuretic. I usu harvest my dandelion leaves all summer long for the winter.
Celery is The Most Fantabulous food for the human body, unfortunately the Only way to make celery tea taste good is to add to it my home made chicken soup. Oh yes, I keep forgetting most other people have teeth, scarf that stuff down & Enjoy the crunching!
I am on Savella but have been given Lyrica samples to use when I am in a long Flare & the Pain Med isn’t working, 1 capsule gives the effect of being Woozie.
I was diagnosed a couple weeks ago with fibro and my doctor prescribed Savella for me. I 've been afraid to take it out of fear of the possible side effects and the with drawl symptoms. Have you been able to see a difference since you started it?
My Primary & Pharmacist fought with my health ins to get me on Savella & I have stopped reading the side effects (they are way too scary) The only side effect I have had is the constipation. After being lactose intolerant for my entire life & the constant diarrhea, constipation sounded like a good thing to me. Talk w/your MDs Nurse or your MD or your Pharmacist, when I am in a corner, I call my MDs Nurse & then I go from there. Love & Light M
I’ll do that, thanks so much.
