Hey Sheila,
This is good information, thanks for putting it out there! The new members really should read this! We were just discussing Glutathione on the Autoimmune group the other day, I think I need a truckload or ten of this stuff!
BTW, watching the reruns of Downton Abbey, Highclere Castle is more stunning with each peek! Imagine being born into such a lifestyle! I think I could honestly adjust rather nicely! ha!
Hi Sheila
If I lived close I think I would try and use her for my doctor. This was very informative. I agree with SK every one should read this.
SK/Susan, Thanks for the link. I agree about the castle.
Thanks Sheila,
Interesting. How out of balance are we really?!
There’s so much new information and so hard to keep up. Imagine trying to sort all these out. Our bodies are such a sensitive balance and fibro has well jumbled us up! Imagine if we could teleport ourselves and come out the other side normal instead of half fly haha!
Good stuff, Sheila. Thank you. All good information. Also, my new doctor told me to avoid artificial sweeteners at all costs. Until the last few months I loaded up on them every day. I haven't for awhile and I wonder if that is part of why my pain is better. She said that even sugar is better, in moderation, of course.
Anyway, no artificial sweeteners people. They cause inflammation.
I'm glad your Dr. knows that! Few do!
Sheila OMG this article says it all !!! I have an apt with a functional medicine physician next week, I was thinking about canceling , but after reading this I am convinced these all relate to me. First of all I have been feeling better in the past two months and the only 2 things I’m doing consistently is taking magnesium and avoiding wheat / gluten. I found another dr in my area that did tons of crazy testing on me & his office called me to tell me according to my blood work he would see me as a Patient , They also told me I was allergic to eggs, chicken, wheat, beef, almonds, peanuts, rice, banana , I was shocked, because my food allergy testing all came back normal last year. This dr looks for antibodies that show I do have high sensitivity to these foods, he checked for the IGE protein instead of the IgG , it means that at some point I had allergic reactions to these foods. My body has antibodies that shows I reacted to the proteins in these foods & All can activate the immune system to go into overdrive, causing symptoms.
Getting back to this article I have always said I have every symptom of thyroid disease, candida overgrowth ( as my fibro started after a bowel infection ) adrenal insufficiency & recent allergies to antibiotics… Could fibro have activated the immune system causing these allergies or have these allergies activated the immune system…?
But now I’m even more excited about seeing this functional medicine physician !!! I’m for sure going to go !
Thank you for posting this !!!
Everyone should read it & look for a functional medicine physician in their area
Hugs

Wow dee! If you had no idea as a nurse that you were sensitive/allergic, then I wonder what the rest of us don't know about ourselves!
Hi SK , I did know i had a reaction to almonds as I knew they always caused a migraine, and I had one reaction once when I ate a banana, but I just kept thinking all day could it have been that banana… ?Seemed crazy though, who gets flu like symptoms after eating a banana, so I thought it was a coincidence , I never remember reacting to chicken or eggs, I always seem to have a headache so maybe this is the cause… Looking back I do remember times getting a migraine after eating steak , but who would think a steak could cause a migraine, especially since my food allergy testing with my primary came back normal… It’s just crazy. So I have an apt to also see a nutritionist … What can I eat ?? Well dairy, tomatoes & corn… Lol , so my diet has been corn chips with cheese and tomatoes… I’m hungry !!!
Hugs

Very informative, thank you! I think I might print this off and present it to my doctor at my next check up appointment.
There is one more cause I'm posting in a few minutes. It's the first cause ever found, in 1954, by JFK's Dr. who coined the term "myofascial pain/fibromyalgia". She has evidence that the second toe being longer than the first can throw your whole system out of whack and cause pain body wide and internal organ problems.
Thanks all for your interesting comments. Dee B, once our immune system is activated, we can develop new allergies at any age.
