Many congratulations, I'm afraid at 47yrs I don't have any advice re being pregnant with fibro but just wanted to send my best wishes to you. At least now you have even more reason to rest up!
JO! So good to hear from you!!!! Oh, congratulations! This is just wonderful news! I know there are women with fibro who have had, and are having children! They will surely help you get through this and give you great advice! Please make sure you have the very best of Doctors caring for you and your child!
Yes, we are fighters! I am so tickled for you, girlfriend! It will be a beautiful baby, I'm sure! Don't be a stranger!
Congratulations, Jo! This may come as a big surprise too - people I know who have fibro and get pregnant - as the pregnancy advances their pain lessens and some have no pain at all! Maybe it’s our body’s protective measure to ensure that the precious child your carrying is healthy and not stressed by what you’re going through.
After hearing this, I would think some doctor should do research on the specific pregnancy hormone and why the pain goes away. If that could help all of us, it could be a huge miracle for all of us!
Enjoy this wonderful time in your life - it’s a wonderful time for you and your family! hugs~ Sandi:)
Congratulations Jo on the pregnancy of your first child. It is so exciting!
As you probably are on several medications you would need to talk with your doctor concerning them and your pregnancy.
As far as how you might feel members who have found themselves pregnant while dealing with fibromyalgia may be able to share with you.
I assume that you are in the early stages of your pregnancy so have you encountered morning sickness? Not all pregnant mothers do. I hope you are one of those who do not encounter it. I hope you are able to enjoy every moment as you look forward to the birth of your first child.
What wonderful news I wish you all the best. Try to rest & look after your self. The ride of a life time is about to begin. Just take it day by day. And enjoy the journey to motherhood. Xxs janie
Oh Jo I am so happy for you. Gosh, what great news for one of us for a change. I hope your pregnancy goes smoothly and you enjoy that precious gift of motherhood
I have a child but she is now 32 years young… I was only diagnosed with fibro in May this year After many years of on going health issues which now seem to all be fibro related. I am a children’s nanny I look after a toddler of two & a new baby who is now two months old… I try to passé my self at work though some times it’s a little difficult looking after children is a tiring but also rewarding job. Even their mother who is a healthy young woman gets worn out . She had no morning sickness. So perhaps that will also be the case for you. You are young you are strong you are courageous … And I am full of admiration for you .wishing you and your baby health &happiness. Janie
Just realised the fibro fog kicked in. I sent you a nice long reply to the lovely comments and now it’s not there! So hope that’s not genetic haha!!
I said I have stopped taking nearly all Meds now already and will be fully clean in a week haha. No need to worry.
The morning sickness I thought was another set of ulcers in the digestive system so hopefully it will go asap.
I’m sure I will experience a few strange symptoms in the next few months or so but will be used to that with having fibro. I think a no stress policy will do the trick too
