I have a female relative who was told all she had left that the MD's could do for her was ECT's. She lost a 6 months of her memories, I had to put posted notes on every cabnet & drawer in her kitchen so she could find what she wanted. In her bath where her towels & her tooth brush & paste were. I think I stayed with her for a week before I felt okay to go back home.
Have you considered seeing a counselor for your anxiety and depression? Once you are able to get a handle on these, you may feel better equipped to tackle the pain management issues. Depression and anxiety have a way of taking over and making it very difficult to feel hopeful unless they are addressed. As for the pain management of Fibro, it is really a matter of trial and error and persistence. Many of us have found that a combination of things work best such as conventional medications, mindfulness, healthy diet, mild exercise (tai chi or gentle yoga), pacing yourself and getting ample rest. Also if you haven’t yet already, please check out Fibro 101 guide here. It is a wonderful resource.
