Hi Bonnie,
I think it's the chronic pain that does this to us, limited attention span, limited attentiveness, limited cognitive skills in so many ways! I was always a prolific reader, now I struggle with anything that is too lengthy.
One of the things I used to LOVE to do was grab the granddaughters, have a great lunch out and do the shop til you drop, lavishing them with new clothes. That was on a day off! Isn't this some version of what we used to do when we were bored?
Wishing you well,
SK
Haha, YES! I always am! The curse of being smart, and I don't mean it smugly.
Thank God for the internet. I would go plum out of my mind if I had to sit home without it. TV bores me beyond tears and although I love reading, the genre I love (mysteries) has become infiltrated with hokey love stories. I just do not enjoy romances and wish that mysteries could go back to having action-packed plots with brave and smart heroines. They were role models to look up to when I was younger. It would be nice for the young girls of today to have different role models than Kim Kardashian.
What do you do to alleviate the boredom? It's always fun to hear the creative ways that people cope with boredom.
Oh gosh, SK, lunch with a loved one, then shopping until you drop sounds FABULOUS!!! If I try to shop until I drop, by the second stop I am literally ready to drop and look for a forgiving bench to plot down upon.
