Some good news. Saw rheumy yesterday and she added Arcoxia 90mg to my usual meds. Took as prescribed last night and this is first day in last 5 years I have not had any Fibro pain. This is mainly a post for members not in the states as it is not licensed for use there. Has anyone else tried this medication with success. Long may the pain relief continue.
Wow Ann, that is amazing! You must be over the moon to have such good results after 5 years! I hadn’t heard of Arcoxia before I read your post. I see its a selective COX-2 inhibitor. Have you tried Celebrex or any other COX-2 inhibitors? I’m just wondering if the Arcoxia is very different to these, as the Celebrex was useless for my son. It’s very exciting, thanks for sharing this info
They are similar meds, but like all one works for some and not others. Celebrex contains celocoxib and arcoxia is eterocoxib. Was on lower dose 30mg few years ago but this only helped pain slightly. G.P. thought benefits did not outweigh risk so discontinued. Rheumatologist has now started me on much higher dose 90mg stating that this more appropriate dose for symptoms. Celebrex has had some bad news here in recent past so doctors not keen to prescribe.Hope this helps some.
