BCAAs (branched chain amino acids)

I know I have been hopeful, as many of you also have, to find that "silver bullet". Even if it is a combination of several things that will help to decrease fatigue, pain, etc.

So I decided to try the BCAAs that people who have strenuous exercise regimens use. You can buy the BCAAs that are essential (L-leucine, L-valine, L-Isoleucine, and L-glutamine). These come in powder form as fruit flavors or flavorless. I chose the vanilla whey powder that has the essential and nonessential BCAAs. For those of you who are sensitive to milk products, or are avoiding soy, get the previous mentioned BCAAs. People who have liver or kidney problems should read the labels before taking these products.

HOW EXCITING!!! The result? I have had much less fatigue and have recovered much more quickly after activities than anytime in the past. For instance, we just had our carpets cleaned. this means getting everything up off the floors except heavy furniture. My husband and I did this together. But in the past this would have put me in bed for 3 days, entirely fatigued. I have bounced right back with more energy and less pain. I take this 1-2 times a day, depending on what activity I have done.

This may not be the "silver bullet", but I'm going to continue with this, hoping it will be effective for a long time. I'll keep checking in to let you all know how this works in the long haul.

Hi, Chiletown. I am glad you seem to have found something that has helped you. If you haven’t yet, please check with your doctor on this supplement to be sure it is safe. And as a caution to others reading here, please check with your doctor before adding any supplement to your regimen as just because something is natural doesn’t mean it doesn’t have potentially dangerous side effects or interactions.
Hugs,
Laurie

Hi, BaltimoreBaby, you are so right about checking with my doctor. I will take the container in to the next doctor visit. As a side note, I have had much more energy and less pain since taking this supplement, going on 2 weeks now.

Glad to hear you're going to consult with your doctor, Chiletown. Please keep us updated on outcome when you're able.

Hugs,

Laurie
