Beginner

Hello everyone, I'm happy that I found this place to hopefully help with what I have been going through. I found out I had Fibromyalgia just a little bit ago and it has been hard. I will have really good days and then super bad. It is hard sometime to even get out of bed. What makes it more difficult is that it seems that the world doesn't understand. When someone hugs me it hurts, and when they even touch me I want them to stop.

Since I am a beginner to all of this, it seems very overwhelming. Has anyone ever done yoga to help try to release their pain? Or one of the anti-inflamatory diets?

Thanks everyone! Sorry for complaining. :)

Welcome, I’m new here and I’m happy to have found this too. Never tried yoga but I’ve been thinking about it. I’m currently taking Cymbalta and Vicodin if the pain is really bad. I’m about to start CO-Q10 and D-Ribose supplements. Lavendarose told me about them. The d-Ribose is for the muscles. I’ll try anything at this point. Don’t worry about complaining, you’re not. We are all in this together. (((Gentle Hugs)))

Hi Sarbug and welcome! I'm truly sorry that you've got fibro. Your concerns and observations about it are spot on. And it's not made any easier by the fact that other people don't understand us or even worse, don't believe us. I have no idea why they think that we'd want to make up this kind of pain!

I think this is a good site for getting information and support. So many different people from different walks of life stop in here and their help is invaluable.

Please, don't worry about "complaining!" This is the place to let loose and tell us if you aren't feeling well! That's why we're here, to listen to you and hopefully guide and support you.

I haven't tried diet or yoga. My rheumy suggest tai chi for me but a. I don't have a dvd player and b. I'm not eager to have even more pain from exercising. I have to push past the mental road blocks on the matter.

I'm sure you'll get many interesting answers to your question.

Hugs,

Petunia
