hi anyone. Just need to vent. I have had a terrible week. My fibr o has been in high gear for some reason. I also have been receiving cortisone shots in my back every month for over a year due to degenerative disc disease. So I have been having my share of pain. So last Monday morning I'm walking down my driveway to get the mail and don't I fall and land full force on my side. I am not a lightweight but I was able to get up before any of my neighbors saw me. Well my husband (bless his heart) insists that I go to an urgent care center. After three xrays, I was told I had sustained a couple of rib fractures. Close to one of the most painful things I can remember. And they can't do anything for it expect pain meds. Meds did not even touch it..My recommendation to everyone out there to please be careful around black ice. I didn't see it till it was too late OUCH!

Sorry you fell! :frowning: It happens to the best of us who live with wintry weather. Try YakTracks. They are chains you can wear on your boots. Just be careful to take them off when you go inside a building or you can risk a fall.

Ouch!!! Our driveway is full of packed snow and ice. I will not go to get the mail.

I can't imagine the pain from broken ribs added to the fibro pain. Did they wrap your ribs to give some support? Feel better soon. Softhugs.Jenny

I'm sorry to hear about your fall and hope you're feeling better soon! From what I've heard bruised ribs are extremely painful. I hope your pain medicine is living up to its name!

I also just had a fall from black ice that was on our stairs and hit my head hard enuff to get a goose egg. But I was able to ice my head with some of nature's very own ice - an icicle that broke off the rainspout when I hit it. If you can't beat it, join it!
