Blackouts: fibro or not?

I have had balance issues with my fibro for a few months which my doc and I both think is from fibro. I don't get dizzy; I just kind of stumble and need to grab a wall or counter to regain my balance. BUT, now I am having black-outs for just a moment or two. I haven't fallen, but I find myself in a different spot in the house than I thought I was or in the middle of an action that I don't remember starting.

Does anyone else deal with this? Can I attribute this to fibro or should I see my doc? If I should see doc, do I call my general doc or my specialist?

Thanks in advance for any input anyone can share!

God Bless,

ChrisAnne

Hi ChrisAnne. I often lose my balance and have to grab something or stay still for a few minutes until I can move again. I also feel light headed at times even when I’m laying down where I feel like I’m floating or been confused about what I’m doing however I’ve never actually blacked out.

I would recommend that you see your doctor to find out if it’s fibro or something else. Too many times we assume that everything is related to fibro. I’ve done that for the last 12 weeks and just found out today I have very high potassium and my kidney’s aren’t functioning properly. Please don’t take the chance, check it out. I think I would check with my specialist first as it may also be related to some of the medications you’re in. Take care of yourself.

Gentle hugs

Hi ChrisAnne,

I think you need to see your Doctor, this is something that needs a closer, professional look. Your General Practitioner is a good diagnostician, he will know which direction to point you in.

Please don't risk a bad fall, get it checked, you're important!

Wishing you well,

SK
