First let me say I feel a little silly talking about this. Like we should be at a slumber party in our flannel jammies having girl talk.
Ok, here goes. I am a larger breasted lady. I have to use underwire bras. I hate them.
I just saw an ad on TV for the MilanaBra. It looks way more comfortable than the ones I have to wear. A really nice back, wide with no hooks. No wires. Even claims to eliminate back fat and better support. Does anyone use this bra?
I know some of you have said you can't wear a bra from the pain it causes. I have pain if I don't wear a bra from the weight of the girls causing poor posture, etc.
Sure sounds good, L-Kitty! I used to be big breasted and refused to wear underwire bras. They are AWFUL! But I had breast reduction so don't know about this product, only to say sounds very good!
You could google reviews of it by typing in the product's name followed by the word "reviews" or "ratings." Either term should bring up some info for you.
Hi, L-Kitty, let me know how they work. I wear underwire as well and I hate them. I’m much more comfortable in sports bras but they are a little bouncy for some clothes.
Please let us know how it is. I also hate underwire and only wear it if I am going out, other wise I am in my sports bra's. Much more comfortable....A Slumber party sounds like fun.... :)
It's not silly! :) I saw the Milana Bra but I don't think I could use that. For you, it may be a good option. It looks comfortable but again, the width of it is what deters me. I can't take a lot of pressure around me so I try and find thinner banded bras. I HAVE to wear a bra becuase my breasts grew unevenly. I am an A cup on one side and DD on the other. I wear a silicone prosthetic in my bra and it is so hard to find cute, comfortable bras that not only DONT hurt me, but will hold that damn thing. Do you have any suggestions for me? lol Thanks! And if you get brave and try them, let me know how they work :)
I got implants a decade ago. Back when I was young and healthy and my chronic pain started shortly after. I have petitioned to have my insurance help cover the removal but they keep denying. At 10k for the surgery....I cant afford it.
I have to shop at nordstroms for bras. They are costly and only comfortable for a few hours at a time then the wear starts to seem unmanageable so I put on a sports bra or two.
I only wear a bra when I go out, and they are underwire. They fit well, I go to the specialists they have at JC Penney, and they have helped me find a bra that will stay up on my round shoulders, that are not see through that fit me properly, that is very helpful in tolerating them. They are the racer back, so they stay up, but if my Costochondritis is bad that day, they are just hell. Most of those stretch bras are too tiny, and too tight, not enough stretch, not big enough around.
Just make sure they can be returned if you don't like them, buying a bra and shoes online never work for me, unless I already know they are right for me.
I'm sorry about your implants, Lyra. I think women should be far better informed before they up or down their breast size. I had breast reduction done and the doc gave me one cantaloupe and one grape. Plus tons of painful scar tissue.
Do your implants cause you pain? I do wonder if the surgery for them had anything to do with the fibro?
You would think that in all of this time, someone would have come up with a better, more comfortable bra design for women.
You're welcome, L-Kitty. I see that others have given you good advice as well.
Beast reduction surgery...be careful of who you use. Be aware that if you're of Mediterranean background you could scar badly - and those scars hurt! Also true if you have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. It's an extremely painful 2 weeks for recovery. Feels like you were run over with a truck. Make sure your doc does good work. Just be very, very careful of who you use. I can't emphasize this enough.
That must be hard to work with, bra-wise and I could see where the wrong bra could cause you a lot of pain, Engprof. And yeah, it's hard to find bras for women who are DD. I can totally feel for you.
I don't want to go there. I have enough going on. Just would be nice not to have to carry so much weight. I had a breast tumor removed in the 90's. It was the worst! Healing was long and painful for that too. I'm steering clear. thank you!
Yes, we need a slumber party, Robin. I could see it now! We would have so much fun and then we would all pass out! LOL! We need a great big hot tub and lots of tea! Oh, and some massage therapists!
