Burning feet

Hi Candi! Let me preface this with the fact I get "weird fibro things" in cycles. For about 2 years I would wear flip flops any chance I got (even through snow) because my feet would turn splotchy red, hot to the touch, and burn when they were in shoes OR at high altitudes... Go figure! I also dealt with them itching to the point I couldn't sleep. My PT, wonderful woman, suggested putting Capsacin on them. Capsacin has red peppers in it and causes a burning sensation, but I have learned over the years that this woman knows what she is talking about. I tried it, it worked! When the itching flared up I would put a light coat on and stick my feet in socks. Now, I am having problems keeping my hands and feet warm, and that has never been a problem, ever! Yay! Another gift from fibro. At least now I can get a cute pair of boots for winter! :)

They didn't say what caused it, they think it was from and old injury they (two drs and chiropractor) asked me if I had been in a bad car wreck and I have not, just fender bender but nothing serious. I remembered my X was abusive in my 20's which could have contributed to my damage. I think that as well as the arthritis which I do have has caused it and of course the fibro has made everything worse.

I have to work to Candi so I know how you feel, then I have to go cook. I use to love the holidays but now I dread them because they cause me more pain. I have the nerve damage your talking about, mine is periphal neuropathy and now mine has got so bad the pain wakes me up at night. My legs just ache I have to get up and we already don't get enough sleep. Have you tried Cymbalta? It's is by no means a cure but for me it helped somewhat with the tingling feeling.

Angel I never was hung up on age before because I could run with the youngest and keep up, LOL. I just wished I felt 49, I actually feel 90ish.....

I have burning feet ESP…in morning getting out of bed or if I work all day…they diagnosed it a neuropathy…

Thanks for all the feedback. This all helps a lot!

Candi I have had those same symptoms with my feet burning and by the end of the day they were blue/purple. I finally got a diagnosis and the dermatologist said I had “raynauds disease.” It has to do with a circulation problem to the hands and feet. There is no cure, look it up it was new to me good luck!

I also have neuropathy then recently diagnosed with Raynaud’s disease which is a circulatory problem in the hands and feet. The cymbalta helps the neuropathy for me. You might research rd or ask your dr. I hope u get better, fibro49

I've had it happen from time to time. And it's awful because the more you scratch, the more you itch. Ugh. Seems like it happens to me when my feet are hot and sweaty. Could be due to that, in my case. I'm sorry but I don't know what causes it. I do use Gold Bond to help with the itch. Helps a bit. I wonder if something like Benedryl would be helpful? I agree with the others, please check with your doctor about your problem so you can rule stuff out and hopefully figure out what's going on.
