My feet is in a lot of pain every day my feet fill like i am holding them in a fire or wolking on hot coals how about you?
what kind of shoes do you wear i can’t find any that don’t heart my feet

Yes my feet burn, they have since I was 2 or 3, and I would want to walk on the linoleum before I got into bed, because it cooled my feet down. Now I often need cold washcloths or to sit on the side of the tub and run cold water. I never wear shoes at home and when I have to go out, I rip my shoes off the second I get home and spray some stuff on them that I made. It's in a little spray bottle, water with peppermint oil. Wow it makes your feet cool! Peppermint lotion, or plain lotion with a bit of peppermint oil in it, that's very cooling too. Be so careful with that peppermint oil though, it it gets on your fingeres, wash reall well right away before you touch your face or eyes. A foot Dr. wouldn't understand this, because it's nerve pain or central nervous system irritation. Lately one Dr. said I have Dercums Disease, which makes the bottom of your feet burn and also makes the front of your belly and your buttocks burn. It has something to do with the fat pads of your body getting acidic, and burning like acid. I think it's still fibro. Most of us with fibro can remember having symptoms even when we were younger. Most of us has worse than normal growing pains, and more often, and other irregular complaints that children just don't have.

Mine are sharp shooting pains along with the burning ones. I have been in a cast now for three months and counting. I have gotten a break when I was on the Lyrica but insurance won’t cover it. Tomorrow I go back to the Dr. to figure out what is next.
Dori, so many who can’t take lyrica or can’t afford it change to a sister drug to Lyrica called gabapentin. It works well on nerve pain, is cheaper, and fewer side affects than Lyrica. Its such a generic drug and used for different things, that I bet your insurance covers it. You do have to get tested monthly to see if it’s affecting your liver or not. I had to stop within 2 weeks due to liver effects, but I react to all prescriptions, so everything I use is natural except emergencies.

I am currently using Neurontin with no success. However we have found a pain patch that I can put on the bottom of my foot and I can then be out of my cast and be mobile for ten hours. Not sure insurance will pay for those and I have been removed from Darvocett just like every one else. I will just be glad when all of this is figured out.

Doc rx'd gabapentin (aka neurontin) last year for sharp shooting pain in the toes & fingers. Worked well at first at a low dose but found the dose needed to be increased regularly over time to remain effective. The higher doses made the brain fog even thicker than normal. I couldn't focus at work so I had to eventually wean off the meds.
Decent shoes help, barefoot, at least to me, provides the best relief. I use ice packs when all else fails.

Hi, I don’t have neuropathy and have two kinds of feet pain. A dull ache on the entire bottom of my feet but the heel pain is the worst. Sometimes it can feel like its burning or like I’m walking on broken glass. I can’t stay on my feet for long periods of time. I also sometimes get sharp stabbing pains in the top of my feet. I have tried just about everything under the sun trying to fix my feet with the doctor. I’ve tried Biofreeze(which might work for you) of course after being tested for neuropathy & stuff. I’v tried braces,shots,tens unit for your feet,orthotics,gel heels & full gel inserts(only caused me more pain in my knees & hips & lower back). The ONLY THING that has COME CLOSE TO HELPING me is Crocs(Rubber shoes). I haven’t wore sneakers or anything else in like 8-10 yrs. THANK GOD crocs makes so many new styles for men now. LOL I use to hate wearing the old garden clogs with the holes in them with wearing shorts. For me(or Men),(for me) I looked silly! LOL

Sheila, I just saw where you wondered what kind of shoes to wear. Have you ever tried Clarks shoes. They are the only ones I can wear except flip-flops. They are kind of expensive but if you can wear them worth every penny! Good luck, it took me a very long time and wasted money on shoes before I found them, my daughters liked it though. They got alot of free shoes!!!

I have lupus and the majority of us have very bad reactions to meds, which just makes doctors more frustrated with us than they are to begin with, due to this being different from week to week, even day to day. I am very happy to heart it helps someone. I now take a natural anti-depressant that has changed my life. It’s prescription in Europe but not here, only takes 3 days to see if it works, and takes care of 14 brain and body chemicals. no withdrawal if you decide to skip days or go off. Its called Sam-e, a chemocal that is already in the brain but people with chronic illness use up more, so need to replace it. It just doesn’t help pain much, other than helping you handle it better.

Yes, my feet burn, specially in the evening. I have to walk barefoot on my hardwood floor in the evening until my feet get quite cool, sometimes cold before I go to bed. When I go to bed I cannot pull the covers over me or else I feel like I'm sweating. For a long time, when I go to bed, I have to leave all the covers off imtil my body cools down. Then I can pull the covers up.
Also, my hands burn. Does anybody have that problem? I also have a lot of fibro pain in my hands.
My feet hurt like walking on broken glass and my heels stay dry and cracked up. I have to put lotion on them 2 or 3 times daily. The doctor diagnoised it as Neuropathy. The worse thing with it though is they they stay Ice cold and hurt all the time.
