Burning/tingling tongue, lips, and mouth

Does anyone else have burning and or tingling in their tongue, lips, or mouth?
I have these symptoms along with my million other Fibro symptoms of back, neck, shoulder, arm, hand, calf, and feet pain and spasms.

Hi MIchael,

I have Sjogren's Syndrome, and it causes me to have the burning mouth, but there is also something called 'burning mouth syndrome'! That's definitely a new one on me!

Make sure you tell both your MD and DDS about this! Hope you can get some answers, and some relief!

Is it all the time or does it come and go? Any sores in the mouth? Coating on the tongue? Dry mouth? Did you check your meds to see if it's a possible side effect? Just some things to think about. I think we get so used to suffering with the fibro that we blame it for everything.

I'm trying to get off of Cymbalta and one of the side effects is tingling of my tongue, mouth. When I was taking, that's how I could tell if I had forgotten to take a dose - my tongue would start tingling.

Hi Liz-

I have it most of the time (80%) for a few months now. No sores, Looked at by a few different types of doctors, who see nothing unusual. They have no idea. Dry mouth sometimes, (25% of time)

I've been on the same meds for 8-10 years. Tramadol and Klonopin.

Seems to be affecting right side of mouth, but also tip of tongue. Could tie in with the fact that I have a right sinus problem and migraine on right side of head. Never had amouth issue in all 12-15 years of Fibro, but I also recently had an upper spine MRI showing herniated discs, 1 which is sitting on a nerve, so who knows if it is connected in some way.

Thanks, Michael
