does anyone know if i qualify and am accepted for disability with fibro, am i legally able to drive my car (have a license).
and if theres anything else i cannot legally do? it would be a big help to get some insight on this.

Yes, you are more than capable to drive a car with Fibro. UNLESS, there is a symptom that makes it unsafe for you to drive or if you have taken pain meds.
In some cases people are able to get disability, but it is a difficult process and usually has to be appealed.
You cannot donate blood, bone marrow, or organs (lobe of lung, lobe of liver, kidney).

I would talk to a lawyer first. I know you have a better chance of being approved if a lawyer is assisting with the case. Also, there are rules on how many times you can apply, and a LOT of logistics that a disability lawyer would know all about!
i am not sure of all the dos and donts but i do know u can drive and also u can work a limited amount of hour but u can only make so much. if u google and lawfirm that handels disability cases they should have the answer to any question.
as far as appling for it u can start the process online or just use a lawfirm the whole time. i did it first on my own and i got so many letters asking me to do this and that i wished i would have just went with the lawfirm to begin with. but that is up to u. the firms that handel these cases do not require any money to start all they do is help u win and then take some money out of your back pay. so dont be scared that u will have to pay them out of pocket.

Casseywassie, I know other people on disability who drive cars. Unless you have some specific reason medically that you shouldn't be, like big seizures, I don't see why it would be a problem for you to drive once you get disability.
Kaitlin, can you please clarify the donating issue? Why would we not be able to donate organs? Fibro is not thought to be contagious, as far as I know. And yet, i have often wondered about this issue myself and wondered if the fibro from a donor could somehow travel through the recipient's blood stream or something.
So yeah, I'm curious about this. Thanks!
It helps if you have a supportive doctor, I got approved because of my Lupus. But after what we've all been through with this fibro it should go through alright. :)

After you die you can donate organs because Fibro isn’t a contagious disease. However, because our bodies are so vulnerable anyway it is unsafe for us to donate blood, bone marrow, or parts of organs while we are dependent on those precious resources. The first time I donated blood they didn’t ask about my medical conditions. I guess they assumed I looked healthy. It left me sick for a week. By far the worst flare I have had. I was too weak to move, in unbelievable amounts of pain, and desperate for relief. I followed every direction they gave me to take care of myself after, but I just had to give my body time to make more blood. So it is for our own sake that we are not allowed to donate. Why would you want someone to donate if it just makes them incredibly ill and susceptible.

Cassie, many with fibro are on disability and can drive, you are allowed to be disabled and have a drivers license and drive.
