Hi! I am new to the group and FMS. I was told I did have it but it was very mild. I was given a low dose of a muscle relaxer to take before bed to help me sleep without pain. Lately I have had two separate situations were pain has kept me in bed, once for two days and recently for four days. I have been sent to another doctor and he thinks all these situations are caused by nerve pain. He gave me something for nerve pain and 90% of the chronic pain is gone. I probably have seen 5 doctors recently and one says take Naproxen you need it. The next says no don't take it. The next said you need it.....etc. Does anybody take Naproxen?
if 90 % of pain is gone i say that is so great. woo hoo. i dont use naproxen or any anti inflammatory cause they affect my stomach very adversely. all the best to you and very nice to meet you. HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS
Suzie
Thanks Suzie....Hugs....Now I have to work on fatigue.
I am in the same boat as Suzie... Before I was diagnosed I took aleve EVERYDAY. I seen an Oerto. about my knee pain and he put me on 500mg naproxen 2 times a day...well I wound un in the ER. I told my GP I thought I had an ulcer and they tested me for H. Pylori and it was negative so they dismissed me saying I had in inflamed stomach...said here take this pill and sent me on my way...well I suffered with chest and back pain and even though I would eat I would feel like I was starving... Well ER referred me to a Gastro..and he does an upper scope and a lower one...lol... Results were an ulcer blocking the pyloric sphincter. Gastro. says this is a chronic ulcer condition. I have swore off all NSAIDS.
If you are not seeing a Rheumatologist I would suggest that you seek out a good one. They know how to treat Fobro. Many GPs are just stumped they have no idea...A Rheumy will get you on the right combo of meds...
HUGGS, Belinda
I was just diagnosed too. I’ve had aches and pain for years’ I’ve been on Meloxicam which is also a inflammatory. I take prilozac for stomach problems. The specialist that diagnosed me the other day prescribed Paroxetine. Will see how this goes. Do you work? my problem is the mental fog.
