Considering moving to Arizona for health

Hello everyone. As someone who has PTSD, Fibromyalgia, Adrenal insufficiency, etc., I am seriously considering moving to Arizona from northern Michigan for my health. Has anyone moved to a different climate for their health and did it improve? Does anyone live in Arizona and find it helpful? I am willing to do anything I can to feel somewhat better, even moving across the country. Any opinions or suggestions is greatly appreciated.
Thanks much!

I've read the heat bothers some folks, the cold others (most). I live in Canada and in the last two Februrarys I went down to Az for a couple of week and it was wonderful - I felt really good. It was a great break in the middle of a painful winter...and we had a mild one this year.

Having said that, I think the summers would be too hot ?

We are considering moving to southern Canada where the winters are shorter - at least a month shorter on each end.

Hi. I think , in my experience and my opinion that each reacts to the weather differently . Some folks actually feel better in the cold weather and as North said above that some cannot stand the heat . I cannot take either extreme . All the best for your well being!

Hello!

I live in Michigan and spend three months in Lauderdale. Once I get there and settled in I fell 90% better for three months. Once I get back to Michigan all hel breaks loose with a Hard flair up. This year cou I g back I am still dealing with it like a roller coaster. The Spring here has been rough, one day 70 and the next day 40. It snowed this morning and was 36 out with a high of 43. Typically its 70 in the daytime and 50’s at night until June. So not sure what I’ll do this coming winter, maybe hold off and come back home later, just can’t go through this again. Florida summers are to hot, but love the wi tears there.

My grandmother, years ago when my mom was young, was told by her doctor that she needed to move to AZ from Upper New York, for medical reasons, and she improved. Not sure what they were.

I have a cousin that moved from Tenn to CA he has FM, and he said it hasn’t helped him. So it is really hard to tell. You may have been feeling great in AZ because you were away from all the stress of your normal life. Who knows. It could work for you.

I have FM and the sudden dropped in temperature is what really put me into a bad flare up. Just came out of one.

Keep us posted on what you decide to do

Hi. I live in Az and I still suffer greatly from fibro. The last 3 weeks have been nearly unbearable! For me, if the barometric pressure even blips I’m miserable! So just like everything to do with fibro, I think we experience similar yet different things from similar circumstances. Did that make any sense or was I rambling?! Anyway I love Az and would never move from here!

I live in North West Washington state, I’m still here, but my best friend moved to Yuma nearly a year ago and she says it was the best thing she has ever done! She left her grown kids and grandkids to finally take care of herself! She works our of her home and does have air conditioning, but she said the continual sunshine is better than any medicine she’s taken!!! I can’t wait to go visit her. And I sit in the sun anytime I can, that makes me feel better too!
Good luck!
PS
Cost of living is a lot cheaper there than here at least
