Cymbalta and Head Sweating

I take cymbalta (duloxetine) and lyrica (pregablin)... the weight gain is an issue as is the excessive sweating but I find the benefit outweighs the problems. I guess it is a personal choice we all have to make. Mikex

hello, i am from the UK so cymbalta might be called something else here, but i do take lyrica & i get a really hot head, & when i say hot i mean hot. you can feel the heat from 2 inches away from my scalp. & my hair which is very short - is drenched at the back & sides. it just runs down my face - which i find so embaressing(have i spelt that right? don't look right) & my fringe aswell. i did put it down to the "change" but i'm past that now. i've been on lyrica for about 8 yrs. now

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s so essentially my thyroid is dying. I totally agree with your post about seeking help for your thyroid. My father’s Hashimoto’s turned into lymphoma. He is so lucky to be alive today.

I never realized sweating was a sign of thyroid problems. Thank you for your post.

Hi Corrine, there are beta blockers which slow down your heart rate so it’s not so crazy. I hate it when mine starts racing. The medicine I take is atenolol and I’ve noticed other people on this site take it. So if it’s bothering you, you might want to mention it to your doctor. He or she might be able to prescribe something or may change your medication.
Best wishes,
Sunflower

your english is great! Try using a dry shampoo, they can be found by the regular shampoo's. Also use a face powder and don't just dab it on, take a powder puff or a cotton round and really push the powder into your hair line, all the way around it. brush off any excess powder lightly. The dry shampoo's are great because they take out the dirt and sweat etc....and leave you with clean hair. I hope this helps! tracze

thank you for the kooltie tip, i'll look it up online. someone else recommended paracetamol too.

hi, i live in the UK so don't know if we're up to date on treatments for migraines - which i suffer from also - does botox help?

i tend to just overheat on my head, my scalp feels like it's on fire & i just drip, sweat running down my neck, it's so unpleasant.

keep getting your thyroid checked by ultrasound and blood tests. my hands used to shake also until i was on the right amount of medication. thank you for updating and please keep doing so. :)

I've had my Thyroid checked and they always say its normal. But since I have so many of the symptoms that I seem like the Thyroid Poster Child, I've had this done a couple of times. I'm still not convinced it's OK. I know a young girl that her docs kept saying hers was fine. They eventually removed it and said it was all black and leathery when she was only 18 years old. I know the tests are less than accurate. But how do you would you go about finding a doctor that acts on symptoms. And would you even want to? I've been riding the fence on this issue for some time.

Just some infor please have yor Iodine checked even if ur thyroids test come back as normal.. Find out more about it at drbrownsien.com . I took test after test and all came in with in ragne but I had all the symtoms ect ect, then I started taking Iodne and iodide supplements and after being on them about 1-2 mouths I lost 50 ibs in 50 days had more energy and still comtinue to loose but not as fast. I did have my iodine check by Doc and I was 122 the ranfe by Dr Brownstien you should be between 100 -199 si I am with range now and my body feels so much better. Remember your thyroid affects EVERYCELL in your body so keep it heathy. We also do not have anything that we eat except salt (small amount in it) and if u eat a lot of fish from the ocean and sea salt so check it out. simple test is to take wound care iodine and put a circle on your forarm size of 1 dollar coin if disappers with end 12 hours u are in need of iodine. Simple test but grea results if u start on iodine. I am so glad I did. I have lost 65-70lbs so far since maybe more have not weighed in 4 weeks.

they did my blood pressure yesturday once it was 138/100 then when i was sent to another doctor i have in the same clinic not more then 20mins ago its was 142/110 and i was calm both times...i was also having chest pain they beleive i have

Costochondritis -- Tietze's Syndrome

wich is basically from what i understand i have inflammation of the cartilage in my chest cavity..... i feel it is a Fibro flare but i do not know i did searches theres no discussion about it... i also have a feelign it happened in my checst because i use a manual wheelchair daily but i dont know what to do or if this will go away or could or will it happen again so im prepared? Ialmsot forgot iw as also taking the birth control pill Loestrin 24 Fe...he took me off that wants to wait a cycle and then see if the inflimation had time to heal and if my bp still was high id b on meds WICH IM PRAYING NOT

there are dry shampoos? what about conditioners? i have other neurological issues and i HATE having to use the shower only because washing and rinsing my hair takes forever for me to do and my arms tire out very easy when up high and it winds up pulling my bp up to

I’ve never heard of conditioner, but I bet they make it.

I think you may be right. I had a few episodes of stabs of pain in my chest area a few months ago that stemmed from my breastbone area and also the muscle area in my back. I honestly didn't think it was my heart - it felt like it stemmed from a pressure point - and tests cleared my heart. I'm guessing it was similar to what you're experiencing now. I also get pain in my ribs that feels like it's squeezing them, but it passes within a day. I think you've hit the nail on the head with it being a fibro thing. I seem to recall other fibro people saying they've experienced it too.

I hope your BP comes down. Pain can make your BP higher, I've been told by my doctor. I have noticed that mine is lower when I'm feeling better and goes up when I'm in more pain. Could this be what's happening to you?

Ruth i have had a bit of trouble understanding with ur typo errors and can not find the doctor ur trying to say online especialy not the .com address.. i dont understand anything about the theriod or what lodine that u mentioned in the beginning is?
