This week has been very difficult. It is Thursday and I am exhausted. I had to serve for Jury Duty on Monday and Tuesday and it completely messed up my routine. I got out of Jury Duty on Monday and Tuesday around 11am and then I had to drive to work to finish my work day. Luckily, I got a note from my doctor excusing me from Jury Duty. My pain levels have increased and my tiredness is off the charts. I feel like I've lived 2 weeks in 4 days. I had to text my husband this morning to help me with encouragement to get out of bed. I started crying and even taking a shower was difficult because I am so tired. I managed to take a shower, get ready and go to work, but I was 1 hour late. I underestimated how much deviating from my normal routine can really take me out physically and mentally. I'm trying to make it through the work day today, chalked full of meetings and phone calls. Honestly, I just want to go home and go to sleep for 12 hours. I made quick dinners this week by putting chicken strips in the oven or making grilled cheese sandwiches (simply and easy to fix). I'm really hoping to recover from this by resting this weekend and doing absolutely nothing but self care!
Hi Sara, I am sorry you are having a busy week. I am proud of you for powering thru and also for being proactive and making easy dinners. I hope you get a great night sleep and have a good Friday. Hugs! Michelle
Hi SaraZ I think you are amazing to do jury duty. I have often thought how would I manage and decided I would be unable to cope with the stress of fibro fog and any stress. Well done to you. I do hope things improve for you as you deserve some respite! Soft hugs. Cheers

I appreciate the support and encouragement. Respite is definitely in store for this weekend. I'm just waiting until the clock strikes 5pm today and I'm homeward bound.
How difficult this week must have been for you - respect! I know what you mean about routines, although every week is not the same for me I like to know in advance what I need to do, so I can pace myself, and of course have the easy dinners for the busy days. Have a lovely restful weekend.
Thank you : ) I try to prepare for the week as much as I can as well. Even if small things are thrown my way that are stressful, I can usually make up for that the next day by trying to plan better and know that I need to actively try to reduce my stress so it doesn't build up over a few days time. It can't always be controlled though, like last week. It threw my body and mind way off and I could feel the effect it was having on my body. I did things I enjoyed this weekend and tried to rest as much as I could. It helped.
Hope you have a good week,
Sara

Hi, Sara, it’s a brand new week. Hope this one is a bit slower for you. I just wanted to add to the other great suggestions that if you don’t already do so, be sure to take breaks if you’re able to at work. I find my brain just shuts off if I don’t take care to give myself little mind breaks. I’ll watch cat videos or listen to music just to reset myself. It helps me not overprocess and then overwhelm myself. Good luck! Another Monday down!
Thank you : ) I do need to be better about taking breaks. I get going and forget to take breaks sometimes, then I suffer for it. I'm actively being better this week about taking breaks and I plan to be in the future as well. There is always so much to do and I need to remember my body needs me to take breaks or I won't be able to work as effectively or efficiently. When I take breaks, I feel better.
Hugs,
Sara

Hey Sara, I can relate to what you are going through. Its amazing how even one little deviation can royally reek havoc on our fibro and blow up pain and fatigue. Good for you though for powering through, that takes a lot of determination and strength and it is very inspiring! Make sure to take care of yourself as much as possible, and remember that down time isn't being selfish, its something that is very, very needed!
