So my husband and I will be going to Disneyland this Monday. I am a bit worried because I know how I feel even after a busy day and a short light workout. I’m wiped out for days. I’m also worried about the way I may feel while I’m there with the lines, crowds etc. Disneyland has always been a favorite place of mine to visit. I just want to make the best of it for the both of us. Any advice, suggestions, stories etc?
I sure can understand your concern !
Save your steps, rest often , listen to your body and stay hydrated
An electric scooter would be the way I’d go !
Maybe you can rent one at the park ?
Enjoy your trip
Safe travels , hugs & blessings

Ooooh, I envy yoouuu, haven’t been for ages.
Did you get the fast pass, the lines should be consiblderavly less crowded. The hotel room idea seems like a good one. Just rest as soon as you start to feel overwhelmed. I hope you enjoy it to the max, and have a perfect pain-free day.
When my Family & I go to Disneyland I usually walk along with them but I let them get on most of the rides and I sit and people watch or take in the beauty of the park while sitting on a bench pop into the shops . Our last visit I took pictures and noticed things I had never noticed before I do get on some rides mostly easy riding smooth rides and my favorites… I have discovered how to enjoy Disney at my pace and my husband and kids enjoy it there way:-) oh and my husband purchased a nice small pillow for me in one of the shops to sit on… If it’s just you & your husband my idea may not work because I am sure he won’t want to go alone on the rides. The scooter is a good idea… But also try not to stress out about it I mean going to the park for the day … Stress makes us feel worse brings on anxiety just be excited to go I have learned that I will make it thur some how some way I PRAY for COURAGE to face it and get thru and I always do but expect to pay for it the next day… But it’s worth it to have fun and see my family having a blast …
Ask for a wheelchair. They have them over with the strollers. Having a wheelchair will allow you to enjoy Disneyland. It will also help with the lines. Basically you will get to cut in line to the front. Maybe bring a doctors note stating you will need a wheelchair. You can also rest in what they call the changing and nursing room. It has comfy chairs and cots if I remember correctly. It also has microwaves and tables.
I hope you and your family have a great time.
Good words and advice ladies. I so appreciate it all. I will resort to the wheelchair if needbe. Just praying I won’t need it. yay I get to see Mickey tomorrow !!
Didn’t end up going today after all. I guess you can say that Fibro is one up on me. Couldn’t sleep at all last night bcs of back and leg / foot pain and arms and hands kept falling asleep. I got maybe one hour of sleep and woke up so sore and achy. We’re going to try to go on Thursday.
Disneyland is the easiest place for someone with special needs or a disability. I went when I was 21 and first developed fibromyalgia and there where no questions asked when we rented a scooter for me. Also the line ques and workers at the lines are wonderful--they asked questions to make sure I could safely do things without judgement and even helped me when needed. I have gone back whenever I am in the States because of it. Also the easier rides have almost no waiting--I can't ride roller coasters but the "kiddy rides" such as boats, trains, and carousels have almost no wait time. If you need something just ask them and they will find a way.
So we went and we had a great time. I decided for us not to get a hotel room. We went to a relatives house about 15 min away and took about a 2 hour break. I so badly wanted to be there at night to see all the lights and fireworks. We returned at about 7 pm. I was in quite some pain but stuck it out and had a good time. I was so close to having to rent a wheelchair at about 7:45 but didn’t. Did a shory prayer and God have me the strength to enjoy the rest of the night. Vampireology thanks for the reply. It helps a lot to get this support from others.
For your next trip, remember that Disneyland has the nurses station where you can take a 30 min to 1 hr nap if you need to rest. Let me make my self a little more clear… Obviously the nurses station isn’t for sleeping but they are very nice and I have told them my reason for needing a break and they have been very helpful and nice.
