You know Lucy, I have a bottle, a neurologist suggested that to me, I think I was up to 4 capsules with no results, but it may work for you!
I take 2 along with my clonazepam. Neurologist told me it would help me sleep more deeply
That's good to know, FRANCE, perhaps it is worth revisiting this supplement. Thanks!
Thank you for your help, I've ordered a bottle of the 1mg dose, info I read stated starting low as 1 - 3mg is usually the standard dose, so I thought I'd start on 1mg and see how it goes, reviews I read were mixed but I thought it's worth a go as it does no harm apparently.
We shall see!!!

Anytime , that's what we're here for is to help each other.
That is good to know. I'd wanted to try it and have a fairly new bottle of 5mg. I know that's a lot, but was trying to be able to use clonazepam less frequently, so tried melatonin alone. Well, of course that didn't work after using the clonazepam. Now, even the clonazepam isn't helping me sleep soundly. I'll try using them together.
I'll start with a half.
Thank you.
No harm at all. Very good idea Lucy.
That's what I love about you all here.

I did start taking it, but I think it added to my sleep issues. It definitely helped me get to sleep, but I was really having problems staying asleep (and still am). It was one of those medicines for me that worked initially, too, and then tended to fade after taking it for several weeks.
My son has taken it for 5 years and has went up to 3mg in that time and he swears by it.
Hi, thanks for the advice, very helpful.

Thanks, will give it a go I think.

I first started taking Melatonin when I was diagnosed with Depression, and it worked, but with side-effects. It caused vivid nightmares, and I was told that it is a side-effect that is not uncommon. It was also harder to wake-up in the morning.
Hi Phoenix,
Thanks for your advice, what dose did you take? Do the side-effects reduce with lower doses or continued use when your system gets used to it I wonder?

I take a 4-5 mg dose and it is amazing! It has worked great for me. It takes some time to find the right dosage because if I took too much there was no way that I could get up in the morning. But just a warning, my dr. told me that Melatonin is not a fda regulated drug so the actual correct mg can vary from brand to brand. For example, I have found the Nature made brand to be less concentrated for me
Hi Bronzehorse,
Many thanks for your advice, greatly appreciated, I'm always wary of trying something new, which is why I wanted advice from all of you here, rather than just relying on the reviews on google!!!

I don't know, I stopped after about 2 weeks at 3mg (the level my doctor said to take) and they switched me to a prescription one that works much better!
Ok, it might sound kinda silly but when you deal with this condition for years, you try everything. lol.
I get hypnosis apps on my android. Rick Collingwood has been my favorite. I have never slept so good in my life! A lot of times I don’t even have to listen. Its like he has taught me how to sleep again. The power nap app is free and seems to give me some rem. If anyone wants to try it, let me know how it works. Many of the apps are free or really cheap.
I take melatonin 5 mg every night along with my Lyrica. Together I sleep pretty good. Hope they work for you. I can't sleep without them. I've been taking them long before I started Lyrica.
