Anyone know of a good PCP and pain management in or near Palm Beach Gardens Florida
Yes I do. When I was living in Stuart, Fl last year for a little while, I was being treated by Dr. Busch of the family arthritis center in Jupiter, Florida. Juat Google for the phone number. He was the only Doctor who treated and understood fibromyalgia. I looked from Stuart to West Palm and no one including the nueologist wanted to deal with fibromyalgia. I was told that most doctors in the area do not want to be bothered with the diagnosing of it and did not really know what category fibro fell iin. Whether it was neuro, rhumetologist or psyhiatric. Needless to say I was appalled that no one take me as a patient because here in Paducah, Kentucky I have Fabulous doctors taking care of all my needs. Dr Busch is a no nonsense Brooklyn. Born Doctor. He is thorough and very upfront about diagnosing and treatment. My first visit with him was very intense. He took in account all my previous medical reports and MRI but he also did a full set of X-rays and a examination of all my joints and muscles. His staff and NP are just as good. I was very comfortable with him but I warn you. He is a New Yorker and you may find him assertive which a lot of people may think rude. He is not rude just upfront and honest. So this is my recomendation. He is the only Do tor I found in the area that understood fibro and was willing to take on new patients. I send my prayers to you. Tina
I'm not sure how far you would like to drive, I was diagnosed in 2005 and after seeing a few different specialists, I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Scott Tannenbaum.I have been his patient since 2006. He is the Medical Director at the HealthSouth Rehab Hospital in Sunrise, Fl. If you live close to the Turnpike and take it south to the Sawgrass Expressway, his office is only a few minutes from the Commercial Blvd.exit.
Not only does Dr. Tannenbaum have experience with FM, but he also keeps up with the new Literature and has attended seminars on the subject. Here is his information

This is very sad that there are few doctors in the Florida area that want to help treat our illness. It upsets me that there are some people that take advantage of their illness to just be medicated then there are people like us that truly need the help. I want to move yo that area when my home sells but I guess I need to make sure I can find medical help first. How sad is that !!!
Unfortunately, South Florida has the bad rep when it comes to pill mills and Pain clinics. I am so thankful that my Doctor's office is in such a reputable hospital as HealthSouth ! Evenso, he is extremely careful with the patients he treats, after being with him for 8 years, I still have to get a Urine sample at every visit!
Meant to say physciatric . I see a physiatrist here in Kentucky who is fabulous. When I lived in Stuart all I got was the rhematogist offices telling me to either call neurology or physciatric offices because their doctor did not want to handle fibro. When I looked for a Physiatrist in the Stuart, Palm Beach area I could not find one. I hope you have better luck than I did. As I said in a previous post Dr. Busch was great and deals with fibro patients gladly.
