Hey there... our weather here is similar to yours a lot of the time but we do not get the same extremes... aka next to no tornados... no hurricanes... no major earthquakes or volcanos to speak of etc... Then again it is not the weather itself but the speed with which it changes... a gradual change from low to high or high to low is fine but when it changes all of a sudden it is evil... I get bad headaches as a result of that but migraines occasionally too.
Speaking of my coin collection I bought a couple more recently... a gold plated us 5c coin and a RNIB (guide dogs) coin :) I am going to make something for Peter whilst he is at work later I think :-) or at least try to... thank you for saving the quarters when you get them... if you want some coins from here I will send some :-)
Feeling better for having a sleep but still very sore and bunged up... also aching like mad :( xx
I am still feeling very sore... achy, painful and like death warmed up to be honest... I want to cry :( That being said I am cold today and not feverish so I am happy with that xx
That is the exact position that just kills me, Mike. Like standing at the kitchen sink and doing dishes...I dread it and usually put that off until the end of the day so I know I can go to bed after. Also, sitting at a table in a chair with no arms. Oh, miserable! Causes that awful mid back pain.
I read one positive in your original post. You said that you scratched yourself instead of cutting. That is so good, Mike. Positives are so important for us to focus on. No matter how they seem at the time they are big. You may not have felt that great about it because it was still causing injury to some degree, but it sounds huge to me.
I'm so tired and so hurting today. Had our daughter from out of town, with her beautiful little ones. They were only here for a few hours yesterday, but the prep is always trying. I played pretty hard with those grandbabies too.
It's so easy to push ourselves into a flare. I'm glad you are going to the doctor to check on your fevers. I have heard a couple of posts here from people saying they have fevers with fibro, but you want to check it out. Lupus maybe? I don't know.
I am happy that they are just scratches... definitely better than cuts :-)
I am glad that it is not just me who has problems with those positions... Peter got me a dishwasher at xmas so that I could just bung the dishes in that... it is actually cheaper to use than doing it by hand as well which is great news... maybe you could look into getting one?
Chairs without arms are horrible, as are stools... I need to have a back on the chair if I can lol...
The flowers are beautiful !!! I hope you have a better day tomm, I have had a headache, chills, and dreadful fatigue for a week now… I think the change in temp does make us worse, I think I am really starting to understand what a flare is… Awful !!! And it does get depressing, & I find myself snapping and being sarcastic… & my sister-in - law said I hope you feel better, get some rest… I responded with ya sure some rest… I have been resting for a whole year now, it’s not helping… Lol we have to just hope for a better day, and for someone to brighten our day with some beautiful flowers… Enjoy them !
Hi Mike, Sorry you are having a bad day. Yesterday, I had a headache with the burning up...but no fever, then cold at times. It is so frustrating. Sometimes I get them at nite. I wish I had an answer for you. I,ve mentioned it to my doctor and he doesn,t seem too concerned. Hope you feel better, the good thing about fibro is it changes:
I had a back injury 20 years ago working as a vet tech. I lifted a heavy dog and ended up with a bulging disc. It's just gotten worse over the years. Certain postures are worse. Standing up and leaning forward or to the side and using my upper body to lift things, like off the shelves at the store. Doing dishes leaning over the sink is awful. Hope you're doing better. :)
How're you feeling today? I hope that the worst of your pain and itching has subsided. Sometimes a simple shift in the weather puts the worst of the pain to bed. And it was so lovely of Peter to bring you flowers! What a thoughtful guy! Did you manage to snap a photo of them for us?
I feel your pain I stupidly did a do it yourself project that involved being on a ladder yesterday. My back and knees are paying for it today I'm just hoping and praying that my knees will not go back to being as stiff and sore as they were over the winter, as they feel like that today.
Did you do the dog shot? Is that your alter ego? He's pretty cool if he is.
Does your weather sit in gray skies for long spells? I imagine that yours is similar to mine. And the gray skies are starting to get to me. Do they bother you?
Oh and I hope your scratches have healed. I'm just so proud of you for making that big of a jump! I wish I could give you a great big hug of joy for the progress you've made. You're getting there, Mike, away from the bad stuff and into the new and good stuff. I like to think that the Creator rewards people who do good things, even when they are things like taking care of one's self. And by reward, I mean good karma. So you're making good karma for yourself every time that you choose to not hurt yourself. And that karma comes out in how much more positive you feel and act. Hey,I know that on our bad days we snarl and sulk, so that's just a part of life. But the good stuff shines through when the pain is diminished.
Proud hugs to my friend who is making leaps and bounds in his life,
Hey there... the dog shot is part of a series... I put some more in my blog. They appeared in a newspaper over here a few months back and unfortunately are not mine.
There is a link earlier in the discussion to the flowers I think if you go back a page or two. The weather here is a pain in the backside because it is happy to change to bad weather but reluctant to change to Sun again. One thing peculiar about the Island I live on is as it is surrounded by hills it sometimes stays dry whilst the rest of Scotland/the UK is soaked. We are lucky in that respect. The weather forecasts for here are rarely accurate as a result of the unusual geography. They are right for the surrounding area on the mainland but not for Bute.
The scratches are healing nicely and the itching has stopped. There are too many midges in Scotland and I am lucky they only bite me occasionally. My friend who is getting married on Friday has over 100 bites on her face alone :-( I have had to take her a steroid cream to help her get rid of the itching, swelling and redness on them.
