Feeling dreadful today

I feel like I have the flu... the weather is changing and I am getting seriously nasty headaches as part of that. The doctors have not had any appointments on Tuesday and Thursday (the only two days I was awake early enough to phone and ask) and this means I have not seen them about the almost fainting/being dizzy. I also feel low psychologically. I was cheered up by a nice letter in the post and by Peter buying me some flowers which are beautiful. Still I have scratched myself... not actually cut myself properly but certainly my arm looks a mess. This is an achievement though because that is one step towards being better as I have not done any nasty injuries. As I type this I need to keep reading over it... I must have hit the delete key 100 times just to write this small paragraph which I find depressing... cannot focus. Hope you are all ok... send me some nice thoughts :-)

Mike xx

Hi Mike, sorry you’re feeling so bad today. Time to curl up with Rossi, stay warm, sleep and drink lots of hot drinks with a little honey. I’m glad you’re not cutting, put a little vitamin E on the scratches if you have any (I just pierce the capsule and squeeze the Vitamin E onto the scratches) it seems to help me heal faster. Every step to getting better is great, one step at a time.

Thanks for sharing the picture it gave me a chuckle and hopefully looking at it gave you a bit of a smile.

Hope you have a better weekend, are your doctors available at all tomorrow? If not can you leave a message and have them contact you on Monday.

Thinking of you and sending positive thoughts your way.

I may ask the doctor here is there is any chance I have anything like that because I am having an increasing number of days where I seem to have a really bad fever that I cannot shake :( As for the doing daft things I sometimes do the same... trying to pay for shopping with keys, trying to open the door with my phone, putting peanuts in the dog bowl and dog food in the bird feeder... it is like I am mad but I do not think madness is the right word to describe it xx

Hey there,

This evening is slightly better than when I wrote this but only because I have soaked in the bath. I am trying so hard not to cut myself and am managing really well... I have to keep telling people to focus on me as a person and treat me as though I do not do that because it is not something that defines me... It is always nice to have people to talk and listen so likewise if you need a talk contact me xx

Hey there,

I have vitamin E moisturiser (yes I am male with moisturiser... shock horror :P ) I usually put my steroid cream on it because it is antibacterial to stop infections and has a strong steroid that takes away the swelling and redness... also I like it stinging... it reduces the need to hurt again. I live on an Island and was actually surprised that there is more than one doctor here (there are about 6 I think) but they only open on weekdays, although the hospital is open all the time if it is needed. I just need to call up before midday to get an appointment at the doctors. Hope you are ok.... I will be doing a blog post at some point I am sure with more pictures xx

Moke??? Who is Moke? :P xx

Sorry you're feeling so bad. Two days ago I bathed the dog and vacuumed the living room. I already knew it would hurt my lower back. But it has put my fibro pain into overdrive. I know it can get so tiring and frustrating and overwhelmingly depressing. I hope you get to feeling better. Cute doggie pic. :)

I know it Mike, the weather plays such a big role in how well I feel, or perhaps I should more correctly say how bad I feel! Hope you can get some relief!

Mike, I feel your & everyone's pain w/the migraines have had them since 16. Weather plays a big part in mine. I hope your cuts & scratches heal & you feel better soon. I've never cut but have pierced & gotten tattoos. Weird that we feel more pain than people w/o fibro & we enjoy the pain. A physical therapist suggested putting lavender on temples & back of neck for migraines, it helps sometimes. I keep lavender & vanilla candles burning to help keep calm. Wish you good days & gentle hugs.

Hey Mike,

Hang in there! Wasn't that nice of Peter to buy you flowers!! Now aren't you the lucky one!! :) You are making progress and I just wanted to send you some positive energy and thoughts, as well as a better tomorrow!! I love the pic as usual!! Keep them coming they sure make me smile and thank you for that!

Hugs,

Sue

Mike,

I'm sorry that you're having quite a flare. I'm not aware of your weather so don't know when to chime in about nasty storms and the like. Do you have allergies and are the headaches from that? If so, some allergy meds might help with the headaches. If they are migraines then they are harder to treat. I don't know what to do for them but if you use our search function and type in migraines, you'll find some very useful advice on treating them.

I'm delighted that you haven't done any serious injuries, Mike. That's a huge step forward for you. Now, why not try to redirect yourself and do something creative, like writing a love letter or poem to Peter? Or drawing a picture? Working on your coin collection? And btw, I've been trying and trying to get some of those state quarters but don't get much change anymore since I pay for everything with my debit card...but I will put together the few I've been able to find and send them to you.

I hope the fluey feeling passes, danged fibro!!

It's words with me. The daftest things come out of my mouth when I'm tired. I'll say something like, "I have to pay with my keys, no my phone, no my ring." And I keep driving right by places where I need to go.

Mike, yeah, I think you should be tested for lupus due to the fevers, and Kelli, I think getting further tests done is a good idea. The fever thing does concern me, as I don't think it's associated with fibro, though I cold be wrong.

Moke, you need a Coke! ;-P back atcha.

As in to smoke :P

From what I can see fibro can effect your body's temperature regulator amongst other things so it may be that but it is definitely a good idea for me to get checked I think.... hey ho, hey ho, its back to the docs I go, with an achy bod,y and a buggered up head, hey ho, hey ho hey ho hey ho

Sometimes it is the little things that hurt most... do you find that there is one position more than the others that causes a longer flare up... I find standing up and leaning forward slightly hurts the worst... like washing up posture :( xx

I wish there was huge big sky hoover that could pull all of the low pressure fronts away and steer them to places that need water and leave us with high pressure fronts lol xx

Hey there... migraines are a pain and I hate them... I do not know if having fibro means we feel things like that worse or not but I do know that it is hell. I like having candles burning... they relax me to look at and some of them smell really nice... because I get a lot of sinus problems I like things like menthol and mint because they help a lot with unblocking that side of things.

I think because we have so much uncontrollable pain we like having pain that we are in control of and are able to manage simply because it gives us the illusion of control if nothing else... that would be my guess anyway xx

Peter and me have been together for 67 months today hence the flowers :-) I will put more pics up as soon as I am able :) xx

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Will have to explain it that way to my husband!
