Hello everyone I have been doing a bit of research into fibro and medication and diet my doc seems to be at a loss with me I went to him Wednesday saying I was in so much pain my meds wasn’t doing much he said it was a break out pain an couldn’t do anything !!! Next day I bent to pick something up an my back wouldn’t let stand straight again this has happened several times in the past the pain is unbelievable normal I get muscle relaxants but this time I couldn’t get a docs appointment !!! So went minor injurys they wouldn’t help so had to get to a walk in clinic I waited an hour for a doc to try an fob me off but after me sobbing about the pain they gave me liquid morphin. But what I would like to know is other than jus pain meds what have people been given by docs for fibro as I have seen Lycra an Sevilla when I asked my doc if there is a medication for fibro he replyed there is no magic pill !!! I clearly understand that but have noticed people being given a med for fibro itself x
God your doctor sounds like mine in a way. So sorry about that!
They also give me cymbalta / duloxetine to help my pain threshold and it acts as an antidepressant too. They also give me amitryptiline which is kind of similar but it’s taken at night and helps sleep because I have horrendous insomnia.
My doctor is a real pain and does not believe in opiates but after years I have managed to get the pain mgmt consultant to help with butrans patches too.
However they all still don’t help hardly and I feel like crap…
A strong positive mind and a flexible approach is the best thing you can do for the fibro. Find people that help you feel good too…
Thanks for the reply Iam planning on getting a list of meds for fibro an takeing them to my doc and say how comes Iam not on one of these !!! Iam also going to try an cut out bread chocolate and sugary sweets. maybe if I go to my doc with a list of meds he might might try me on one an it could always help !!!

Not sure where the fibro meds begin or the arthritis ones begin, so here is my profile which included the main ones that I use. Hope this is a help to you. I will tell you that Lyrica will ONLY help nerve pain and the Oxaprozin will really only help joint and bone pain, maybe some muscle but not nerve pain. The Enbrel seems to help everything, as it seems the better the arthritis is, the better the fibro is!
