Hi my name is barbara i have had fibo for 15 yrs i have tried pain meds exercise cymbalta and lyrica i was allergic to cymbalta–the lyrica 200 mg a day helps some but i still have a lot of pain. my question to group have you found other things that work?
Morning Barb3! 20 plus yrs dealing with this myself. Sorry to hear still in pain with the lyrica. Personally couldn’t do that one. I take 100mg Savella twice a day and that helps me a lot! I do exercise 4-6 days a week, have more tings wrong than fibro which can make some exercise harder. Walking, Pilates, & peddle machine are my top exercises. Used to love bouncing on rebounder but my doc told me had to stop. My bathtub is also a best friend. When I do get a flare it can knock me out but I do also my my medical MJ card for pain as pain meds from doc doesn’t do anything. Granted I’ve only used 2 grams of the 72 I have for the year. Told them I’d be high all day & don’t want that 
. I say take it each day at a time and see what works for you. Everyone is going to find that one thing that helps, it just may take awhile. Prayers you find yours.

For me identifying local pains and finding specific exercises them is the one part.
Oh, and supps, like GABA. Tried any thing there? (I don’t tolerate meds.)
And knowing my triggers and pacing around them for the overall pain and fatigue…

Medications can be very variable with fibro. What can work wonders for one person can be of very little benefit to another. For many of us it really can be a case of trial and error to establish what works and what doesn’t. Some people can tolerate the recommended medications, some can’t. I was trialled on Lyrica and, for me, it sent my whole system for a spin. It’s not a good medication for me
My personal situation is not fibro related but rather I have a little nasty growing in my brain. I’ve been trialled on all sorts of meds to manage the plethora of side effects, but very little that helps. Some medicos profess that they have the key, but I’m yet to find one that works.
