Fibro Thrive Kit

Ok, I originally was going to title this "Fibro Survivor Kit" but I like to think that we are more than survivors, we are going to thrive despite this condition. I thought with many of us experiencing weather / season changes which can bring on flares for some people, we could share ideas of what to put in our "Fibro Thrive Kit." So if you made a "thrive kit", what would you put in it? For me, some of the things essential for my "thrive kit" are:

* My daughter

* Ice packs

* Relaxing music

* Epsom salt

* Routine medications

* Good reading material

* Scented lotion and candles

* My animals (well they wouldn't want to be boxed up of course . . . )

* Soft fuzzy pj's and an abundance of pillows of different sizes

Those are some of the essential items for my Fibro Thrive Kit, I would be interested to see what you all would have in your kits? Hugs.

Auburnm, this is terrific!!

I would pack almost everything you have already put down... I think you may want to have your daughter and your critters all to yourself! LOL

Here's my list:

My smartphone errr my right arm, my comfy sneakers, my favorite pillow, a warm blanket, my Garfield pjs, snacks, lotion for sensitive skin, and of course, my medications/vitamins.
If I think of more I will add.

Thrive on, everyone!

Does anyone remember the old Taco Bell commercial with the dog where he says," I think I need a bigger box." ? ;) Ya , that is my case. I could not fit everything into a box. I want my bathtub, my kitty, my hubby, my medicine takes up a lot of space, my phone , my sleep number bed , my pj's, my family, and my friends.

Mmm great idea! For me, all my family, 3 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandaughters, 3 grandsons, my partner, my meds, my pjs, only comfy clothes I have! and my PC contact with the rest of the world!

Thanks Lovett, I also play word and puzzle and card games on my tablet to stay distracted. I admit, I am slightly addicted to Candy Crush . . . lol. Hugs!

I want to see a pic of the Garfield PJ's - :-). My smartphone is also always at my side, I can't remember what it was like before technology and I would probably give up cable and many other things in order to keep my internet / technology :-). Hugs!

Yes, that was a great commercial, thanks for making me laugh! Hugs!

That is terrific Anne, it sounds like you have a supportive family! Hugs!

What a great idea.

I would add:

1. Bottled water, I find I hurt more if I am even slightly dehydrated.

2. My laptop.

3. My favorite fluffy blanket.

4. My TENS unit. (It uses electrical impulses to relax muscles)

5. My dogs

We all seem to gravitate towards soft and fluffy things.

Traci

Yes, soft and fluffy is the way to go. And a TENS unit is a great addition! I used to have one and miss it, I need to get another one. HUGS!

I already have a few favorite things even though I am new to the dx.

1. My iPod with a ton of music and audiobooks.

2. My eReader, can't live without it.

3. Oversized T-shirts, that is all I can wear or I'll die from heat stroke. Having hot flashes and living in Florida, blech.

4. My husband

5. Heating pad

6. almonds and seltzer water

7. Scented candle

8. My meds, again, blech.

This is in no particular order and I am not sure if I can convince my husband to go "quietly" into the box. muhahahahah Might need a shove.

Awesome idea Auburnm and awesome replies from everyone. I got some great ideas to try for future comfort. There isn’t much more I can add as almost all that was said already I would include, except, children, hubbies, families, and pets of others. I have my own daughter and Bullmastiff to bring. lol! One thing I would take with is this site. I find the connections I have with so many people here lifts my spirits and mitigates my pain. Thanks for helping me thrive.

That is awesome, I definitely would take this site as well, great idea!

Thrive on EVERYONE!!!! Hugs!

I love the ocean as well and often play an app of ocean sounds (not the same but the best I can for now). Those are great suggestions. Hugs!

Hi, quietlight. I wanted to make your acquaintance.:slight_smile: You have a lovely poetic way about you. What an evocative description of the essence of the ocean.

See you more on the boards.
