Does anyone have any tips on keeping your job? I am a community nurse and the job has become much more stressful for everyone in this position due to the amount of patient's we have to do in a day eg 8-10 sometimes 14 and the amount of paperwork. I have recently gone part time so that I can rest between my work days. I have been on what's called the capability route since last September and have until 6 Sept this year to improve or I may be redeployed or dismissed.
Bless your heart...I wish I had an answer for you...I am certain some of our other members can give you some sound advise. I myself feel I am in a battle to keep my job. Good luck to you...keep a positive attitude
HUGGS, Belinda
Thanks Belinda
I do try to stay positive and have a wonderful family. My sister has the same and struggled ending up on disability. My daughter was also diagnosed a few years ago. I think I have had it a lot longer than last September. The "fog is the worst" as when I get anxiety I tend to forget more. My family and friends think I have always been like it so maybe its the job has got more stressful.
Hi Niki, I have a fairly stressful job as well but I have more time to sit than I imagine you do. I try really hard to stay focused on the tasks at hand. Sometimes I am able to wear headphones and I put on soothing music. I also try to space out the more stressful tasks so I am not doing them all at once. I have a high volume of calls at times and that does stress me and can aggravate the pain. Also my job can be very unpredictable which is difficult during times I don't feel well. I also drive a lot and will take stretch breaks when I can. There are days where I am on my feet all day and that is really hard. I try to elevate my feet as often as I can and I sometimes use Salon Pas on the tops of my feet which are particularly painful areas. Sorry, wish I had a great solution to this problem. Hugs.
