I wish someone would develop a Fibromyalgia Simulator and make it mandatory for all doctors and nurses to wear it for a week. They have a male pregnancy one so why not a Fibro one? It would make for better understanding and care
That is a great idea. I remember hearing about fibro years ago and really not understanding it, but I can sure say I understand it now. Your suggestion has made me smile. Thanks. HUGS!!!
I just need one for my husband. I need him to feel the pain, the fatigue, the hopelessness... I need him to REALLY understand it. And I need to never have to remind him again. Ever. Because having to remind him reminds me of how very few people who don't suffer disease actually understand it.
I agree with that 100%,,but also for the people that upfront call use fakers or say its not that bad,,let them find out first hand..
I agree people have fat suits to simulate being fat empathy belly to simulate pregnancy they can simulate being elderly bad vision and arthritis and being drunk.I wish they would invent a FIBRO simulator .people don't think it's r e all.they'd think twice if they had to wear it for one day.
Even better a injection that would produce the symptoms , then it would be real . But have it wear off after about a week .
Right on! It wouldn't be a "wastebasket diagnosis" then I bet!

Yesterday I had a not so friendly appointment with a new rheumatologist that didn't go ideal. He asked me what my understanding of fibro was and I told him I know a lot of doctors think fibro is a junk diagnosis. He then proceeded to tell me I need to exercise. And he wants me to take the fibromyalgia class offered (I was diagnosed about 16 years ago and have been to classes). So I don't plan to return to him. But yes it might eliminate this "junk diagnosis" if the doctors could experience first hand what we go thru
This is beyond brilliant. Seriously, we should crowdfund this and get some scientists on it!
I LOVE this idea!!!
Well lets not forget to make them experience the IBS that most of us also have that goes along with it... oh man can you imagine what that suit would look like? it would have to cover the entire body including the feet... it would have to effect the bowels, bladder, eyes... it would have to sweat!!! It would have to induce pain and make you extremely tired. It would simulate Migraines and TWITCHING... LOL... GREAT IDEA!!!!
