Hello Mandy,
Sorry to hear of your problems. My only advice is pacing, asking for help from family/friends if that is possible, practising mindfulness and relaxation might work? Can imagine how difficult it must be for you with 3 little kids. Wish you well
Take care, Anne
I keep my caffeine and sugar to a minimum. Sudden spikes in blood sugar and caffeine levels seem to always make me feel worse and can makes the fatigue a lot worse when you are at the lows.
Hi Mandy1031
I am sorry to hear about your flare. I have a 11 year old he has been very energetic since he was 2. I understand how demanding 3 can be. I was a nanny caring for 2 young children when I had him. You may not be able to lay down all day. But depending on the age of the children you might be able to ask them for a little help. I would be happy to make some suggestions but they would be based on their ages. I have been a preschool, toddler teacher and kindergarten assistant and cooperation from the kids can go a long way in making things easier for you. This won't be your last flare so eventually they will need to know what is going on with you. I have heard of parents making kits, boxes, baskets of activities that only come out during certain occasions. They can be board games, child safe scissors, glue sticks, paper etc. They can bring the basket up on the bed where you are resting or if you are in the living room on the couch they can be at the coffee table. Have a clean waste basket handy and before they begin get a promise from them they will clean up.
For feeding - when my son was a toddler I put a variety of healthy snacks in the bottom refrigerator shelf. He had a drawer of plastic dishes, Styrofoam bowls and plastic cutlery. By minimizing time standing the more rest you can get so you can recover sooner. Obviously, you still have to make meals and change diapers. I found having diaper stations tucked around the house easier than going to that one diaper table. I hid the diaper wipes behind couches, with a bag of diapers (7-10). If they are very young then you can play pretend doctor and they get to be the doctor - you the patient. You can take this opportunity to briefly educate your children. By the time my son was 7 he was asking me to re-tell the story of my car accident and which part of the body got hurt. He remembered more than some adults I know. It's hard. I have been there. I hope you are feeling better soon and I hope these suggestions might help a little.
