Getting to know me!

Hi there everyone, my name is Margareta, I am 22 years old and from the UK. For the last few years if not longer I have had symptoms of Fibromyalgia, I went to my GP on a pretty much weekly basis only to be told there was nothing wrong, in the end I gave up and grit my teeth, then I met my husband. I now live with him in our 1 bedroom flat along with Bonnie our pure white red eyed bunny and four troublesome cats, Tabatha-Jane, the eldest at 5 years, her two babies, Sophia and Buster at 3 years old and their baby Magick. All the cats are outdoor animals and wonder as they please, the two bays (Buster and Magick) will sometime sleep on the bed with me when Chris (my husband) is at work. Anyway after moving in together (which is 100 miles from where I previously lived and which I am origionally from with my parents) we searched and found the right GP surgery for me, at this time my symptoms had got a lot worse so after appointments and test, again finding nothing wrong, however this doctor pushed and sent me off to various specialists. Now 3 years down the line, the consultant I’m seeing finally diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia in March 2015. I have just completed my course of hydrotherapy, now determined to continue through private sessions as it helped a lot. The next steps are to establish the right treatment plan for me, my next step is to improve my lifestyle, diet and exercise. Thank you for reading everyone x

Welcome, Margarita! Glad you are finally on right track with a diagnosis. That family sounds like quite the motley crew! I bet you have some great stories.;) Can't wait to get to know you.
Hugs,
Laurie

Hello Margarita,

Glad to hear from you again. Love that you have all those pets, they sound great! Would be interested to hear more about the hydrotherapy, did you get referred? It is something I would like to do too. Like you I would also like to improve my lifestyle, diet and exercise.

Take care, Anne

Hi to you both, the animals seem to have a calming effect and quite often they make me laugh, not too long ago, the husbands kids were over playing out the back, all the cats were around and out came this poor person from another block with his little white dog, the eldest cat (Tabby) freaked, puffed her tail and started hissing, no one could move, there was this white dog at least twice the size of her and he was so scared, they turned around and went through the other block door at the front to go for a walk, there was at least 6 of us there and we just burst out laughing, Tabby just walked away like it was nothing, the only thing we could determine was she may have been protecting her family, then tonight she started chasing her shadow. As for Hydrotherapy, it depends on your local hospital, some you can self refer, I was referred by my GP, you get 6 1 hour sessions, after that they will advise you on other places or if they do out of hours sessions at a cost, for me because I had a referral, all I will have to pay is a £4 membership for the year.
Thank you for reading, have a great weekend. Take care xx

HI Margareta, sorry to hear that you had to go through the whole process of being told repeatedly that there wasn't anything wrong with you. It sure can break your spirit to hear that repeatedly. But a good GP is worth it's weight in gold. did you feel that the hydrotherapy did anything for you?

Welcome margarita.i am 26 and in the south of ireland.Glad you finally got a diagnosis.looking forward to getting to know you. gentle hugs to you xxx

Hi Margarita, glad you found a good place to come and get ideas for your illness. Its a long and complicated road but we all will survive. Some days it doesn't seem like we will but we all pull thru. Ill be looking forward to hearing more stories. Take care

Welcome Margareta, great to see you here. I love animals as well. I have 5 cats, Julius, Jack, Chloe, Murphy, and Squeakers. They are lots of fun. Hugs.

Hi everyone,
Hildur I knew that something was wrong, the doctors made me angry but I wasn’t going to give up, the GP I am with now I am happy with, at the moment he wants to monitor me more closely due to finding the right medication, the hydrotherapy made me extra tired for a few days but it did help my muscle feel better.
Queenpink, thank you for the welcome, I am from Somerset, UK however now I live in Worcestershire, UK. I moved to be with my partner although we still visit my family and stay with my mum 1 weekend every month or so.
Fuzzy, thank you for the welcome as well, I have support from my family and friends, they understand as much as they can, I wanted to learn more, find things that would help with daily living and find support in people who truly understand.
Aubumm, I would be lost without my animals, they are such a comfort to me, I hope you find just as much comfort in your rabble, thank you for sharing that.
Thank you for reading guys, gentle hugs to all of you xx
