Guiafenessin

I have been sick for several weeks with a horrible cough, congestion, etc. Prior to this I had been in so much pain for about 6 weeks. In addition to all the other meds, my Dr. told me to take Mucinex (Guiafenessin). One day last week I noticed my pain was better. Then the next day was even better. I remembered seeing something about guiafenessin in all my Fibro research but I never tried it. I assumed it was just another waste of money. I researched it further and saw that some people do believe it helps. I don't know if it is the true reason I am so much better, but I'm too afraid to stop taking it. Has anyone else researched it or tried it?

Talk to your doctor. I'm not sure this medicine should be taken long-term in any case.

Avenk and Dancermom you're raining on my parade! LOL Seriously, I do appreciate the info and I am going to keep taking it until I get over this junk and then I will stop. It does help thin this mucous out of my head. Thanks!
