Hope not to jinx myself

Doctor added 30 more mg of cymbalta and I started lyrica 50 mg three times a day. After my first dose at 4 I actually can feel a difference! I hope this helps. And I hope it continues to help. I go in for more blood work Monday am. My blood sugar was 183 so now I’m going to be tested for diabetes. Does anyone have fibro and diabetes and is 183 bad?

I hope to have a less painful weekend.
I hope the same for everyone else too.

Thank you for being here for me.

Hi Justamom,

I have low blood sugar - hypoglycemia. The average sugar level is between 80 and 120. Although 183 is high, it's not dangerously high. My mother has been diabetic for years (she's 76) and she struggles to keep her levels down. It's not uncommon for her's to spike over 200, which is not good. She has gone unconscious when it went over 240 and sometimes over 300 in the past. For her, she feels the best when it's around 130 something.

I'm going to take a guess that if your tolerance test (diabetes test) shows up positive. They will most likely start you off with a prescription pill to take. As long as that works to keep you sugar level in the normal range, you won't have to go on insulin. After a while, you will be able to tell what you sugar level is by how you feel.

Thank you  very helpful

Hi Justamom and good morning,

I've read that if you have excessive weight on you, losing it resets your body so the diabetes is "gone," unless you get heavy again. Doctors now suspect that diabetes isn't permanent, it can be reset.

I am willing to bet that the Cymbalta and Lyrica are kicking in and doing their thing. I hope so! Lyrica can get rid of quite a bit of pain. It's a nice change!

Hugs,

Petunia

Day 3 of lyrica added to cymbalta and cymbalta increased.

Dry mouth. Pain 8/10 was 10/10 or 100  feeling a little foggy, mind is going a hundred miles today but my body is tired. Did not nap today, which I have been for 6 months daily. I feel like the monsters are being slowly euthanized… Left leg is numb. I feel extra warm tonight my skin is extremely hot, a little burning on the skin still. Overall I say that the increase in cymbalta and adding lyrica has really helped me. I will check in again soon.

Hi Lovett. Today is better. I have always had flares of burning skin. Prior to cymbalta. But the
Lyrica does make me feel wired. I have more energy but I feel like I’m all over so that is scaring me. I go back to dr Friday … I will talk to him then. My blood sugar is 189 today. I’m still waiting to know what the dr will do with this. I’m not sure if I need a diet change or what. I’m not overweight … I’m actually loosing weight lately. But I crave sugars stuff so I’m trying to avoid it. So I’m not sure what is causing high glucose levels. Or even how to control it.

Tan I you for checking on me. I really really appreciate you
