I am just wondering probably a far fetch but

Do anyone have children diagnosed with PDD or another type of autism or learning delay?

I don’t have any kids on the spectrum, but I just about have my masters in Occupational Therapy and am familiar with the diagnosis—what’s going on?

My son is only currently diagnosed with a sensory delay with sensory seeking tendencies but im sure hes at least also ADHD. Have to wait for kindergarten this year to find out though.

was just curiose my son has pdd and was looking it up and came across that they believe its caused by the central nerv system just like fibro is so i did some research to see if any dr have said if pdd or learning delays were linked to mother/fathers with fibro and it did come back that they believe it does just like i think my mom having ms is what has made me so suseptible to fibro

I have a daughter with down syndrome. I wonder if my fibro might of been the reason.
I believe that I have had fibro since I was a child…???

I have one child and yes, he has been diagnosed with PDD and Adjustment Disorder... feel free to contact me with other questions and concerns and I will see if I can help in some way.

I have 4 adult kids. Two are adhd, one of those was mis-diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic which turned out to be severe anxiety. The same son was on an IEP his entire 12 years of school with learning delay that was quite severe. He also has crohn's disease.

It turns out that the severe anxiety and crohns runs on my side of the family. I was adopted at birth and after doing a brief search 3 years ago I found a half brother who is a carbon copy of my son. It was weird and very cool all at the same time. I no longer blamed myself for my sons disabilities. I didn't feel like it was something I did wrong during my pregnancy.

Autism is everywhere and it is so very very sad and so hard for you all who are dealing with it. You have my utmost respect.

Hello Victoria! So good to hear from you! Hope that you are well and happy! Just so happens that I have been doing research on Folic Acid. It is highly recommended for the expectant mother to take and according to what I have found, they believe it can help prevent autism on your children!

Please ALWAYS check with your Physician before adding anything to your intake while pregnant!

Wishing you well,

My oldest son has ADHD and so does my daughter. My son took adderall from elemntary school until he graduated from high school last year. My son had a 504plan to help in school because he also has asthma and had to miss school offten at times. He would get easily frustrated when he would get behind the rest of the class and would try to just give up. I had to push him and I was at the school at least once a week, usually 2 or 3 times a week, talking with the principal, teachers and the councilor. He graduated by the skin of his teeth but he did graduate. He stopped taking the adderall as soon as he turned 18 last July. I think he still needs it but he refuses and says he can manage without it.

My daughter is in college now and she never took any meds for her ADHD because she made good grades and never had much of a problem with school. She also has some anxety and depression but has not been medicated for that either.

My 14 year old son does not have ADHD and even though I LOVE all of my children I must admit he has been the easiest child to raise.

i am not preganat my 4 yr old has pdd and as i was reading on it they believe it is caused by the central nervouse system same thing as fibro so i been researching and found some believe that kids are at higher risk for autism/development delays connecting with fibro befor i started looking i was curiouse if many fibroers had children with these issues

My son's never been diagnosed but I strongly suspect that he's an Asperger person. He's a total love but has great trouble socializing with people his own age. He also has a lot of OCD quirks, and was obsessed with the Titanic as a kid. He also has sensory issues, or at least he did have them when younger.

I too have wondered if my fibro and his potential Aspergers are linked in any way. It's often the case that two very smart parents can combine to create Asperger children. So I wonder if two very smart parents also make a child with fibro? Probably not. Just a thought.

I have 3 sons who were add and 1 grandson who has autism?
