New to the group

Hi I'm Ana and I am diagnosed with fibromyalgia I think back in 2011. my gastro dr. had been telling since 2009 that he thought I had it. I first was told that I have delay digestion with acid reflux. then I was diagnosed with i.b.s. with stomach spasms. I als have t.t.j. which is jaw pain. while being diagnosed they found that I didn't reach stage 3 sleep realm. I was diagnosed with fibro while I was working in the auto industry. now I no longer work. I have flare-up's on a regular and am in constant pain. they put me on all types of meds. that don't seem to work. I have a 18 month old and a 9 year old and I am married. I am really tired of the meds with side effects. my kids keep me smiling and I have one of the best husbands in the world. today I saw my therapist and we talked about my social problems of not leaving the house. I applied for ssi and was denied repleatly. now I have to file a new application. I am currenty looking for a new fibro specialist that listens more and is more compassionate. someone who will document my problems in detail. that's my somewhat story

"I also forgot that I have start having problems remembering things and just staring into space aka fog brain"

You are in the right track. Find another doctor. You could go as far as interviewing your doctor before you even come into the office. I know this sounds strange, you interview a babysitter before you allow them to tend to your children; don’t you? Isn’t you body and health worth the same process.

Use the resources you have available to you. You have a 9 year old daughter. She is old enough to have Fibro explained to her. She is a untapped resource. If you are too tired to cook, teach her how. Like mixing ingredients, or seasoning meat, tossing a salad and washing fruits and vegetables. I am not suggesting you abuse your child by this. Make it into a game. Anything that can be done to help especially things that cause you to get in and out of the chairs; use her legs. Not only are you easing your burden( you are teaching your child a skill she can use later in life.

Next whatever higher power you happen to believe lean upon it. Never allow yourself to be defeated by Fibro. Remember the feedback we give our doctors will help those who have not been diagnosed.

I hope I helped. BE BLESSED!!!

yes my son cleans to kitchen and he is 9 and my husband does all the cooking and most cleaning. my kids keep me fighting.

Thank you

Yes I had a disability lawyer and went through with appeals and still got denied. The lawyer think it’s because my age. Also most of my medical info came from my regular doctor. My rheumatologist didn’t document as well as they needed. I’m faced with a dilemma whether I should stay with this lawyer and reapply or find another lawyer. Because I really can’t work, I haven’t even combed my hair in 2 weeks because of the pain. Any suggestions please comment.

My husband says she couldn’t get it done the first time, it’s time to move on

I’m on neurontin, flexeral t
o help me sleep, mobic, Imitrex for migraines, ultram for pain which isn’t working. Amy worked better. Zofran for nausea, and prevacid. I tried cymbalta and had lots of side effects.
