I forgot what "normal" feels like

I’m new here and look forward to sharing stories and ideas. I was diagnosed in 2010 but have suffered for the last 10 years. I have seen many doctors and finally found one I like. But treatment and pain relief has not been successful. It seems like there’s one thing after the next going wrong and after a recent sleep study I have learned that I have sleep apnea…great…

I’m hoping that with the cpap machine I can at least sleep well, then maybe I will have the energy to deal with all the other issues.
Gotta love fibro :0/

Welcome, Natasha! I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea as well. I have an appointment this morning to see about getting fitted for a mandibular advancement device. Fun. Sleep is so important. I keep hoping that this will be the "magic bullet" that solves most of my problems.

Best of luck to you,

Liz

Hopefully the cpap machine will help you. I guess we all need to adjust to our new 'normal'. :-(

Hi Natasha and welcome to the LWF family. I'm glad you posted right away!

It seems that sleep apnea is one of the common threads of fibro patients. The good news is that you are taking all the right steps to getting better. That cpap machine could very well help you out a great deal!

Welcome Natasha!
You definitely have come to the right place, I have found that everyone on this support group is amazingly helpful and well, supportive!
I also wasn’t diagnosed that long ago, a few years, but have had severe fibromyalgia since I was a kid.
Please feel free to ask or talk about anything, it’s amazing and comforting to know that we are not suffering alone with this disease.

WARM WELCOME
Hi Natasha, it’s great that you have introduced yourself, it’s sharing that makes this site so wonderful, so thank you !!
I hope the Cpap machine helps, sleep apnea can result in some serious fatigue
I often think the same thing … I’m starting to forget what normal feels like !

Hi Natasha- every once in a while I feel normal again and really appreciate it, and the with no warning, I go downhill again. You are not alone. Obviously, since I am writing this at 1:15 in the morning. Lol. But for sure, enough seep is a huge factor that helps. The problem is that none of us sleep correctly, and that is a vicious circle. Take Care, Best, Michael

Welcome… I just joined too. I almost hate to feel normal for several reasons. First I way overdo and then pay for that later. Then I get more depressed because I remember being normal and get mad because I’m not anymore and probably never will be. Sorry feeling really low because only got 3 good? hours of sleep.

Thank you all for the replies! So far so good with the cpap, its a small amount of uncomfortable but worth it for being able to sleep without waking a zillion times! I can’t wait to see what I will feel like in 3 months.
